“Good evening mollies and tom cats!”
A jovial, feminine voice bubbled up in the air as a rosy-hued feline sat up along a chair looking to be made of tawny carpet, a few stray claw marks telling the viewers that it had likely seen better days. The youthful host was bounced in her seat as her acid-green eyes glittered brightly and her goopy yellow forepaws gripped her lap in anticipation. Ivory fangs parted widely as she readied herself for another happy bellow.
“I hope everyone is feline good tonight because we have a real treat for you!! Straight from the Carried Away Warriors forum, we have a clowder of colorful individuals here tonight to answer all the burning questions you have about this claw-some roleplay group!” Whisking a paw outwards beside her, the anthropomorphic cat girl gestured to the forms of a handful of cats, all pelts neatly groomed with the exception of a fiery ginger sporting wild curls.
“Excuse me, Gumi, but the forum is actually called Carried Home.” A spotted she-cat donning a silvery pelt mewed coolly from her seat beside a smug pale tabby.
“Oh my!!” The pink hostess giggled with a drippy paw pressed to one cheek. “Well, it certainly Carried me Away!! Ohohohoho!!” At this, the slime cat caught an irritated glint from a pair of orange eyes. Settling down, she brushed out her skirt and rotated a paw in a casual hand motion. “So, welcome to the show! Tonight, we have a pawful of characters from the roleplay group; Longwing from Ivyclan, Milk-kit from Mothclan, Saltpaw from Mistclan, and Tallulah Rose and Shadow from beyond the clans!”
A gangly, dark tom hunkered down in his seat, mossy eyes glowering. “It’s 'Shadder,'” he corrected softly.
“Ahhh my mistake!” Gumi hardly seemed to miss a beat. It appeared this was not her first interview, or she acted quite well despite her bumbling demeanor. Perched with her forepaws propping her up by her knees, Gumi leaned in closer to the cluster of cats and purred gleefully, “So, welcome!! I must ask, how exciting is it to be part of the roleplay?! It’s come to my understanding that you’re all rather new characters to the overall story that Carried Home encompasses and that your Writing Master is a tad bit out of touch with Warriors roleplays. How does it feel to be the first characters that she's using to dip her toes back into the Warriors waters?”
“Well Gumi,” a tall tom started, his odd eyes gleaming amicably and his long fur groomed into lovely silky strands. “It feels really nice. Like I’m home. For most of us, I’m sure, it’s refreshing to be brought into the light after laying dormant for so long. It seems that Mew is crafting new and reshaping old characters of her's that she hasn’t used in far too long of a time. In my regards, I used to be an inactive kinmate to one of her primary characters, but otherwise had no real reason for existing. It’s lovely to feel used again- pardon how that sounds!” He offered a sheepish smile as he realized how his words may have come off negatively.
“Psh! As if I could ever be left alone for too long!! I’m too perfect of a design!!” purred the smallest cat, the smug pale tabby, as she puffed out her downy chest. Bluebell eyes shown a haughty light as Milk-kit continued, “Mew’s been planning to use me for moons now!! She was far too in love with my character, name, and appearance to even think for a second that I would fall to the wayside, tucked away in one of her computer folders! I’m basically her favorite!!”
At this, the slimy hostess made an ‘O’ shape in surprise and the fiery cat beside Milk-kit scoffed. “Is that why she decided to drop you in some random Warriors roleplay than use you for the lavish DeviantArt group you had been designed for? Hmm Madolche?” Tallulah taunted, sneering at the kit whose face looked as red as a berry and as wrinkled as a tree trunk. She had struck one of Milk-kit’s nerves- wow, what a feat!
Just as the former TGB-turned Mothclan kit moved to pounce on her neighbor, Saltpaw smoothly reigned in Milk-kit with a sharp pull by her scruff. “Enough, or have you both forgotten you’re on live?” Straightening out her fur in order to maintain her poised composure, the Mistclan apprentice dipped her head toward Gumi. “I agree with the Ivyclan cat. I, too, had just been a coveted character design waiting in the wings. I had been purchased in an instant by Mew and cherished by her, but it seemed that she could never decide on a group to use me in. Thus, it was with bated breath that I waited to be accepted by Carried Home. I truly look forward to being roleplayed alongside my new clanmates.”
“Well I-“ Gumi had begun before she was swiftly interrupted by an undignified grunt. Her flashy green gaze locked with that of a unique turquoise one. “I’m claw-fully sorry, Ms. Rose. Was there something you wished to say?”
The messy LaPerm shook her head indignantly and growled loudly, “Yeah there is! How come you’re all peaches and cream with these clan cats, but completely ignore Shawitt and me like we’re nothing?!”
“It’s 'Shadder.'” Another soft voice sounded to correct the mispronunciation of his name, but remained once again unheard.
A small sneer cloaked in sugary sweetness curled onto the pink feline’s face as her eyes bore into Tallulah Rose through narrow slits. “Oh? I’m quite sorry. Do tell- how does a mere kittypet fit into the overarching plot of this epic of the wilderness, hmm? Go on.”
At the hostess’s prodding, the ginger molly furrowed her dotted brow and slumped back against the clawed carpet material and kneaded her seat with her own claws. Despite her feeling of sour defeat at the anthro’s words, it felt rather nice to claw at something other than moss. “Well,” she began before spitting belligerently and yowling, “Whatever! I’m not getting your smart words, so I’m not gonna answer! I’m abstancy!”
“It’s ‘abstaining’,” Longwing whispered softly into one of the kittypet’s ears, and Tallulah quickly added in the same sharp tone, ”Abstainy!” She failed to notice in her fury that she had once again misspoken.
“Well,” Gumi purred coolly with a paw clasped over her cheeks. “How enthralling! What about you, Shadder? I’ve heard you’re the newest addition. Haven’t even had your first post.”
“I don’t like to talk,” the dark, ticked tabby answered flatly. There was a dull tone to his voice and a morose look about his face. At this, Gumi grimaced.
Glancing over her shoulder towards the backstage, she hoarsely whispered, ”Did we have to invite this guy?” A muffled response made her wrinkles her nose. “But he’s a bland as cardboard.” Again, a muffled response was heard only by the hostess. “Yeah, yeah.” “We’re still paying him?” “Shit.”
With a forced smile, Gumi turned back to the group and tidied her skirt once again. “Well, we’ll come back to you later then, Shadder.” She ignored the sharp look she received from the young tom. “So! What are some of the things we should be looking forward to from you lot? I’m excited to read all of the posts your Writing Master makes with you all. Drama! Suspense! Maybe even some matters of the heart? You know how Mew is with shipping!!”
At this, laughter ensued and the majority of the guest group offered weak grins. Milk-kit and Longwing stood out, however, wearing a star-eyed and jolly expressions respectedly.
“Of course!! I plan to make sure all the pretty mollies of Mothclan never go without!!” The pointed white tabby beamed happily with a blue gaze that literally appear as if they would turn into comically large hearts any moment. Her silken tail wagged like a love-sick puppy’s and her words were laced with an air of wistfulness. She would surely be enjoying her time in the clans with how many cute cats she seemed to come across daily.
Longwing gave a knowing look and purred in a more mellow voice, “Yes, Gumi. There will be plenty to be excited for in the coming moons. Plenty of fluff material to send a fleet of ships off into the sunset. But I can’t say anything just yet.” He gave playful shushing motion with his paw and the look in his gold and aqua eyes sent the fan girl’s in the audience into a shrill symphony of squeals.
“Excellent!!” the pink hostess exclaimed at the prospect of more romance to live vicariously through. “I can’t wait to see some kits on the way!!” She then turned to face the audience and gave a sullen smile.
“Well, I can’t be having this last all night or my managers will have my tail! I’m afraid that’s got to be all for tonight, folks. Thank you so much for joining me for this in-fur-view and may Starclan light your paths!” The gooey feline made note of how the Outsider cats sent daggered gazes her way at her farewell. Oh, go back to your safe spaces, you special snowflakes!
