You make me feel invincible
Earthquake, powerful
Just like a tidal wave
You make me brave
You're my titanium
Earthquake, powerful
Just like a tidal wave
You make me brave
You're my titanium
He was upset that he had missed her warrior ceremony. It was the one thing he hadn't wanted to happen. He wanted to be the first to cheer her new name, he wanted to be the first to greet her to congratulate her on her hard work during the last couple moons of training. He had missed it...at least he missed it for a good cause and part of him hoped that she understood that. His jaw was slightly open looking at the warrior, she had grown since their first encounter, and there was something about her that gave the tom energy. It was an odd feeling. The tom dug his claws into the ground, sheathing and unsheathing them pulling the dirt as he went along. He looked down at his paws, these were the claws that fought tooth and nail for his clan...for her. His amber eyes stared ahead, looking at her in the distance, she made him feel invincible...that was the feeling. He had done some foolish things over her.
Mudjaw thought back to the first time he really noticed the black she-cat, and he had accidentally called her a MothClan Cat. He had been embarrassed so much he had ignored her, or just avoided her....mostly avoided up until his warrior ceremony where he apologized to the she-cat. The tom closed his amber eyes for a moment recalling his first gathering where he compared himself to Otterpaw declaring IvyClan better, which was still the case.
Mudpaw! Cute name, I'm Otterpaw! And that's my new best friend, No-voice!" the young cat stuck her tongue out playfully, sniffing curiously at the young tom. Mumblepaw stiffened, fur bristling.
"I am not. Her friend," she growled, tail beginning to wave in agitation.
She seemed to be serious not a bad thing, but you need to lighten up occasionally. "Otterpaw....do you like water too? What does Mothclan do for fun anyways....you....seem kinda boring..." He mewed looking at Mumblepaw.
Mumblepaw made a face like she had just been spat on. "I am not from MothClan, I'm from your clan," she huffed. She wasn't really surprised, but it still got under her skin when her wallflower tendencies made her forgettable to others.
He flattened his ears at Mumblepaws comment. "I'm always...out and about...so...ya you know...." He wasn't quite sure what to say.
Mudjaw opened his eyes, ears flattened against his head. He had called her BORING!!!his opinion had clearly changed. He attempted an apology right before his warrior ceremony. He couldn't believe he called her a MothClan cat, goodness he felt so bad, was that a compliment or insult to Otterpaw? He was honestly shocked that Otterpaw didn't have anything to say about his mistake. Perhaps she had been embarrassed for him too. He wouldn't be surprised....he could already picture her annoying voice mocking him. He curled his lip in annoyance just thinking about it.
Target on my back lone survivor lasts
They got me in their sights
No surrender no
Trigger fingers go
Living the dangerous life
They got me in their sights
No surrender no
Trigger fingers go
Living the dangerous life
Mudjaw's amber eyes fell into the puddle as he thought about all of his actions that had changed who he was...he had ran off from his mentor countless times, he had ambition doing whatever it took to succeed and get to where he wanted. He had a bitter taste in his mouth, would he at one point harmed to be successful? He shook that thought away, he wasn't who he was when he was an apprentice, he was different! He looked at the scars that covered his chest, before turning to see his flank. The fresh pink markings that covered him, they were his battle scars. The scars that earned him his name. He was partly proud of them, knowing he had defended his clan, but partly ashamed.... he had jumped face first into battle.
Mudpaw let out a growl, tail lashing. He was very close to being a warrior, the tom figured He would make this a moment to make his deputy and leader proud, he didn't wait for a command before launching himself towards Eaglewing, claws unsheathed. "Get off our territory you mangey rat pelt!" He hissed, he slashed outward hoping to get a good hit on the older tom.
Mudpaw staggered for a moment from the wound created when there were three cats after him. He would thank Scarletflight and Roseblaze after. He snarled and snapped towards the older tom when he said to mind his own business. "You are on OUR territory how about YOU mind YOUR own business." The older tom managed to get his teeth into Mudpaw's hind leg, he let out a yelp before turning his body, paw raised and swinging down hoping to get a good mark on the toms face.
Mudpaw let out a loud screech as he felt fangs dig firmly into his leg, and clearly they weren't letting go. Mudpaw started to struggle, despite the tom being older he still had his strength. Mudpaw kicked with a free hid paw hoping to score a good mark across The rogues chest. He let out a hiss however as he felt a blow to his side, tearing his leg free. There was a large flesh wound in his leg now that was incredibly deep, Mudpaw felt sick to his stomach blood flowing to his ears. All he could hear was a high pitched ring. Suddenly his vision blackened, and the tom fell to the ground. He was unconscious.
How could he have been so foolish just to lunge in without a battle plan? He scoffed slightly, he was starting to pace back and forth now tail lashing. He had let himself get so beat up that day. He did manage to get his warrior name over the whole ordeal. He had pledged to uphold the code even at the cost of his life...which was fine...but was it fine when you had so foolishly jumped into a fight without a plan? He narrowed his eyes slightly, unsure...but his actions brought him to a slightly darker place, after being knocked down, he was wanting revenge....and it was revenge he got.
After being stuck in the medicine cats den for what seemed like forever he had managed to bond with Mumblepaw, her serious wallflower personality was something that had rubbed off on him. She was wise, strong both mentally and tactically he admired the she-cat and was honestly proud of her, but something happened, something over took him at the most recent gathering...something that put a darkness in his heart...a darkness so strong that even the dark forest recognized it and that scared the tom to death. He wasn't afraid of anything, or at least didn't show it...but this...this was something he didn't want to play with.
Hey, hey, hey everyday when I wake
I'm trying to get up, they're knocking me down
Chewing me up, spitting me out
Hey, hey, hey when I need to be saved
You're making me strong, you're making me stand
Never will fall, never will end
Shot like a rocket up into the sky
Nothing could stop me tonight
I'm trying to get up, they're knocking me down
Chewing me up, spitting me out
Hey, hey, hey when I need to be saved
You're making me strong, you're making me stand
Never will fall, never will end
Shot like a rocket up into the sky
Nothing could stop me tonight
He followed behind Mumblepaw, and a few MothClan cats who were also chosen to go, to his distaste Otterpaw was one of them but so be it, he would show her how it was done. Tail lashing back and forth, he pressed onward, however it was a loud yowl that caught his attention as he saw the older tom he knew all too well lunge straight for Mumblepaw digging his fangs into her body. He snarled viciously lunging forward "GET OFF OF HER!!!!" His eyes glazed over, there was something different about him, Adrenaline flowing through his veins. His ears were ringing loudly, he was blinded by rage. Not only did he owe this tom some revenge, but he went after Mumblepaw, he wouldn't let that happen.
His lip was curled into a snarl that ripped through the air, he stood in front of Mumblepaw protectively while circling around the rogue warrior. "You think you can get away with that??? Do...you? DOOOO YOU!?" Mudjaw wouldn't be so easy to take down this time. His muscles tensed, and after a few moments of silence he lunged forward aiming for Weasels throat.
The tom had been successful, Weaseltongues body had gone limp, Mudjaw dropped the rogue on the ground before locking eyes with both Mumblepaw and Otterpaw. Perhaps IvyClan wasn't as weak as Otterpaw thought it was.
It was that night that changed the tom. It was that event that caught the Dark Forests attention. He had done his best to avoid them, staying awake until he physically just couldn't stay awake any longer, but night after night he ended up there. He hadn't meant for it to happen. He wasn't evil....he just wanted to be a good warrior for his clan! he closed his eyes slowly, ashamed of himself. He could feel his heart beating fast, would Mumblesong even want to speak with him if she ever found out? She was so dedicated to IvyClan.....and here he was doing them dirty....
He had returned a few dawns ago with the stolen kits, Finchkit the most affected, Sparrowkit seemed to be doing okay. He often wondered when Owlstar would name them he had done it for his clan. He volunteered for his clan...the good deed seemed to have cleared the darkness as he hadn't been to the dark forest since. "that or they are waiting.... for me to be vulnerable" He knew his one weakness was Mumblesong, he had yet to tell her his thoughts, he stared at her from afar and puffed out his chest, it was time to be honest with the she-cat. She made him different, she gave him strength and she deserved to know.
He stood up, it was now or never. He padded towards the black she-cat, standing in the sun casting a shadow. "I'm sorry I missed your warrior ceremony, you know I would have been the first to cheer your name had I been home." He mewed, he also would have been the first to help her make a nest, and show her the warriors den. He would sit vigil with her all night even though it was not his duty he wasn't a new warrior, but he wouldn't let her do it alone...he realized that he didn't want her to feel alone either.
"Look Mumblesong...." He started. It was now or never, if he didn't say anything would their friendship even go anywhere or just stay stagnant. "You make me feel invincible Earthquake, powerful Just like a tidal wave You make me brave You're my titanium" He mewed. He closed his eyes tightly, now she knew. This would either be the start of something fantastic, or not so much...he could hear his heart beating fast, his ears were ringing. "I care about you...I uhh...I guess...ummm...well I love you." He finally mewed.
