She waited watching the medicine cats den, it was more than obvious at this point in time, the she-cat was obviously pregnant. She had been careful, eating healthy prey drinking water staying fit, she wouldn't let carrying kits slow her down. She had been battling her own demons lately. The demons of being a mother versus being successful in MothClan. In the nursery she would still be well respected but that meant being trapped. There would be no more hunting patrols or border patrols for half a year, 6 very long moons, but on the contrary she would have her kits to love...LOVE no...she was turning soft. Yes she would love them but she couldn't be soft with them. They wouldn't learn....instead they would grow up soft, thinking the world wasn't a scary place when in reality there were thousands of things that could kill you every day. They had nothing to fear but fear itself but they had to be prepared, expect the unexpected, be independent. While learning all that she would raise them, teach them, show them love when they needed it but they would be raised tough, the dilute she-cat would have it no other way.
She paced around camp watching the warriors go in and out. She needed a plan. She had been debating for awhile now what to do about her situation she wouldn't be the top of parent to just abandoned her kits, she wanted a family, but she wanted to be a warrior at the same time. There was a saying that you couldn't have your cake and eat it too but after much thinking Stormwatcher finally came to a solution. Her green eyes fell on the broad shouldered she-cat. She had seen her eyes fall to the nursery a few times. She was the one. She was fierce, but still had the maternal soft side..so perhaps...just...just maybe. "hey umm...you don't know me very well but I need to request a favor." Stormwatcher sighed as she explained to the warrioress that she couldn't nurse her kits, but she would certainly be there for her. After much hesitation, Stormwacher got the she-cat to agree and was incredibly greatful. She padded to the medicine cats den before coming back out with borage leaves.
"Eat these" She placed the leaves at the paw of she-cat who would be helping her. She took in a nervous gulp watching, waiting, no one came back this would have to be incredibly sneaky. In a few days, the she-cats milk would come, and then she would go get parsley from Cedarleap for her to eat. She got the borage, the other the parsley it was a fool proof plan really. Her eyes trailed on to a larger she-cat padding into camp and she felt a lump in her throat. She told Hailstrike everything and today...well today would be the end of that she had too many secrets each dangerous. It's not that she didn't love her sister or trust her, she feared her judgement.
I can do both Mothstar...I can be a great mom and warrior too. I'll show you just that.
