She didn't speak, until Mudjaw had leaped down from the monster carcass and Bearstar's query echoed in her ears. The Ivyclan leader was silent, and then finally looked up to glance at her colleague, since Brackenfall had no official say in the matter. Then, she gaze out over the clan cats, carefully selecting her words as she spoke.
"This is not the first time, the clans have been threatened as a whole," She began, her voice clear and loud as it rang over the clearing, demanding the attention of cats of every clan. "This is not the first time I've had to make a decision to protect all of us," Her mind was whisked back to the great journey to this new home, where she had lost a life saving a Mistclan kit.
"We all should step up border patrols, medicine cats should take warriors and stock up on every herb you could imagine we need. I do not wish to seek out trouble, but we should wait for it to come to us, if it will. Better to fight on our home turf, in the places we know but they do not, and use it to our advantage." She declared, yellow eyes blazing as her voice filled with the warm fiery sense of determination every warrior held dear in their hearts. "Let them come! They will see that they are no match for clan cats that have defeated storms, fire, and ice!" She turned her gaze briefly to Brackenfall.
"Bring your clanmates home, and tell Mothstar to prepare his warriors for war. Expect a messenger from me." Then she turned to Bearstar, lashing her tail with ferocity that only accented her words. "You as well, be ready for battle. If anyone is lacking in herbs, we shall share with each other, yes? Expect a messenger. If we are to defeat another threat to our home, we will do so together. Now take your warriors home. It's been a long night for us, and longer for some." She glanced down towards Mudjaw. He needed food, and sleep, and to see Mumblesong and her kits.
"Ivyclan, we're going home."
