FOXFLIGHT - - >
The abyssian she-cat slunk slowly through the meadow, looking back every so often to make sure that her two precious kits were still in tow. It had only been a moon and a half since she'd kitted them, but they were already bright-eyed and eager to be out of camp. She hadn't told them where they were going, nor had she told them why. Their questions rang through her ears as she gave a soft reassuring purr. "Hush now, it's a surprise." She paused her footsteps for a moment before finishing, "but I think you will like it." It wasn't too terribly far of a trip, and she hoped that her kits short little legs weren't getting too tired. She touched her tail tip re-assuredly on Mirekit's shoulder. Almost there! She thought to herself. She hadn't made this trip for a moon...when she'd delivered two other bundles to the Clan across the border, to their father.
The choice wasn't easy, but she had made a promise. And Foxflight wasn't one to break promises. This would be the first time she'd seen her other two babies since dropping them off, and she was quite eager to see how they'd grown. She was greatful that Lightfoot was able to find a queen to look after them, though worried when she discovered that said queen already had 6 kittens of her own. Oh, she hoped they were getting the attention that they needed. She shook the thought from her head. She was sure that they were just excited to have 6 new brothers and sisters to play with. They were lucky, she assured herself. Looking back once more at her two kits she gave a soft smile. Hopefully this wouldn't be too hard on them. Hopefully they would understand...
Finally they had reached the border, just as the sun had rose high into the sky. It seemed that they were the first to arrive, so she sat quietly and scooted Mirekit and Fenkit towards her, grooming them obsessively. "Now, be quite, your surprise will get here soon." She mewed, finally satisfied with their looks as she curled her tail daintily around her stocky figure. Her large ears surveyed the meadows before her. Surely she would hear them before she saw them, she concluded.
