She led her clan there a little slower tonight, her pawsteps just as graceful as she carefully tread through the soft coating of snow on the ground. She almost wanted to appreciate the night. The sky was clear velvet, speckled with bright stars and an even brighter full moon, which cast it's ghostly silver light over the world below. The glow painted the leader's pelt an equally lovely shade of silver, that shifted and rustled with her every movement, akin to a star streaking across the sky. The only thing that stood out was her bright yellow gaze, which shattered the monotone illusion of a silent reality. Golden eyes gleamed with unrivaled warmth, and it was surprising that the snow didn't melt before her.
Despite even this slower pace, her clan still made it to Moon's Maw before any of the others, and with this, she smiled slightly in pride. Every time she led her cats, every time she addressed all three clans, it brought her back to journey days. Newly christened as a leader, with bright eyes and her friends and family behind her, she led the clans to this new home of theirs. Her heart swelled each full moon she looked down on all of them, with warmth and pride and love that she could never really explain in words. Look how much all of them have grown. Look how many of us have survived. It only took her a moment to jump atop the monsters she herself had claimed as their Gathering perch, and swirled around to cast her gaze across the clearing. It was silent but for the soft murmurs of her own clanmates, and her ears swiveled forward, as she looked to the entrance to see if it would be Bearstar and Brackenstar that greeted her this moon, instead of their deputies.
She didn't quite know why she was looking forward to seeing all the clans here tonight, especially since the air was so frigid and the world was so quiet. But then again, she rather liked these kinds of nights. The smile on her face was cheerful and warm, her entire demeanor, though still rather authoritative, was a bit more relaxed as usual. Even some her own warriors, even temperamental Firechaser, couldn't help their own smiles at the lovely aura their leader gave off.
The entire clearing felt warmer.
