Talon wasn’t quite used to this just yet, everyone coming to him for their problems, whether it be sickness, prey shortage, overall worries. It kept him busy, but he had a lot of things to think about still. Such as whether they would be staying here with the loud noises and furless bears moving closer and closer he didn’t know how much longer it would be home. With a sigh he sat below the ancient ancestor looking at the stone with bright green eyes. Please give me some answers…. The brown tom closed his eyes and as he did so there was a bright flash, he saw the furless bears running through their camp, chasing them all over their home. As quick as the flash came it was gone. He opened his eyes nervously looking around, everything was still the same. He huffed slightly before calling everyone to the ancient ceremony where ceremonies were to be held.
”It is time to welcome four To-bes into the full ranks of their roles.” He mewed firmly. His eyes fell on Dark, Rain, Owl, and Brittle one of which was Firstspeakers son. He winced slightly wondering if he was watching his kit become a full home-guard. He hoped that it was the case. ”The roles of the tribe are important, and all four of you have worked hard to upkeep its honor. Thus we welcome you into your full ranks today!” As he spoke, an occasional flake of snow flittered down, one by one the gentle puffs fell and it was almost serene…just for a moment.
”You have made your friends and FAMILY proud. He mewed firmly. He put an emphasis on family as he looked at Brittle. He knew even if their ancestors were silent…perhaps they were still watching over them…maybe doe was looking after him. A place in his heart still longed to see her again but he had duties to perform, he wouldn’t let his home fall apart, he couldn’t let them fall apart. ”Brittle, Owl, and Dark I welcome you as full home guards in the Tribe of Ancient roots. May you continue to uphold our ways like the ancestors that came before us.” He mewed. His mind drifted for just a moment wondering how much longer they would continue to be here. ”Rain, I welcome you as a full prey hunter, I look forward to seeing you bring in prey for moons to come to keep our tribe healthy and strong!” He bellowed his words as he spoke giving each a firm nod.
With a dismissive flick of his tail, he jumped down from his higher position and onto the hard frozen grown below. As he walked, he made prints in the slightly dusted ground before he knew it, he was outside Firstspeakers den. For the longest time he had been living with the home guards but today the tribe needed him. He was the glue that was keeping everyone from breaking. With a deep breath, he lifted his head high, and pushed himself inside just as their leader used to do.
