 Buckleap flicked his tail to dismiss his apprentice as he strolled into camp at sun-high. The light shone through the waterfall and danced across his brown tabby pelt. The tom stopped at the entrance to look around for a moment,  then caught sight of Silvermist and pricked his ears. It wasn't long before he had padded up beside her. "You're better," he noted matter-of-factly, "That's good. Couldn't have you die after I put so much effort into getting you out of camp and all the way back again, right?"

The tom hadn't visited her in the medicine den, having heard the medicine cats struggling to speak over too many cats already, but his eyes had flicked in every time he walked past. Now his eyes flicked to the fresh-kill pile. "Do you want to come hunting with me, in the woods? Get some fresh air?"

[I'm going to say he was one of the ones that helped her get back to camp. If you want me to change it lmk.]

Silvermist lay outside the nursery watching over her kits soaking in the sun. It was a few degrees warmer today it felt nice. Webkit had come down with Kitten Cough but she had healed quickly thankfully. But she had heard she had a few seizures while she was away so she liked keeping a close eye on her while she could. "You're better," Silvermist looked up to see Buckleap padding towards her. "That's good. Couldn't have you die after I put so much effort into getting you out of camp and all the way back again, right?" She laughed softly, "Yes that would be absolutely horrible if I died after you worked so hard to save me in the flood and before I could see my kits become apprentices let alone warriors." She got up and stretched feeling muscles she hadn't used in moons stretch it felt good.

At his request to go hunting with him made her want to get out. She looked to her kits and saw Webkit creeping up behind Halfpaw. She chuckled softly. Turning back to Buckleap Silvermist gave a nod of her head. "I would like that a lot. Halfpaw can watch over his siblings for a little while." She flicked her tail excited about getting out of camp for a bit. "Lead the way," she purred softly.

Buckleap's ears pricked as she mentioned her kits. He glanced over at them. They were just about apprentice-aged now, he thought. His eyes flicked back to Silvermist as she stretched out, then to Halfpaw at the mention of the young apprentice. He smirked at Webkit, quickly nodding his approval, and strolled away to the exit.

"Looks like Halfpaw will be ready to be a mentor soon," he joked. There was a small splash as he accidentally stepped in water, then shook his paw so that it dripped off. The tom wrinkled his nose. "Is their father busy with an apprentice already or something?"
Thinking about it, he couldn't remember ever seeing the she-cat and her mate, let alone all of them together. He hadn't paid much attention to the nursery before.

Silvermist strolled at Buckleaps side as the two headed for the exit. "Yea Halfpaw will be a great warrior and someday a great mentor," she purred softly. At the sound of a small splash, she looked to see Buckleap shaking his paw with a grimace on his face. She chuckled softly. "You're not afraid of a little water after what we went through are you?" Silvermist couldn't help but tease him.

When Buckleap asked about their kits father she was taken by surprise. She had thought the entire clan knew by now. "Well you see their father..." It never got easier telling others this. "Their father is Daisypetals. We fell in love before he became the Medicinecat Apprentice. Things were broken off when he chose his new path. The kits know he is their father and he spends as much time with them as he can but, his job keeps him pretty busy. He's a good dad and a good Medicinecat. He checks up on Webkit often because of her seizures."

Buckleap rolled his eyes and flung the last of the cold droplets at the she-cat before he continued onward. His steps slowed as she explained about Daisypetals and her kits. "Ah," he just said at first. It was only after a few moments that he added, "I guessed he just hung around because of Webkit's thing... The ears should have given it away, hm?"
He made a small amused sound and wrinkled his nose as he brushed past a low-hanging branch.

After this, his paws fell along the path to the forest. A breeze rushed through the undergrowth, rustling ferns, and carried the scents of the woods to his slightly opened mouth. They were watery and dulled by the remaining ice and snow. "So did you chase him away, or do you just have bad taste in toms?" Buckleap joked as a smirk dashed across his maw. The breeze brushed his whiskers.

Silvermist tilted her head wondering why he would say Daisypetals only hung around because of Webkit. "That's not true he really cares for his kits. Yes, he's worried about Webkit but it's not the only reason he hangs around." At least she didn't think it was. She frowned wondering if it could be possible but no she refused to believe that. "Yes they definitely have their fathers ears," she laughed softly. She padded at Buckleaps side ducking under the same low hanging branch that Buckleap had brushed past. When Buckleap began to laugh softly at his joke. "Neither it was just bad luck I'm afraid." Silvermist bowed her head and took in the scents of the forest trying to find any prey to take back. "What about you? How is it you don't have a mate or kits of your own yet?" Did she really just ask that? If cats could blush she would definitely be blushing right now.

Buckleap stopped to look around the forest, but ended up only looking at Silvermist out of the corner of his eye. "Yes, it's odd with how gentle and loving I am that she-cats aren't flocking to me..." he muttered. The tom shook his head. "And I'm sure Daisypetals is a great father. I just meant that before you told me he was theirs, I just thought his duties were why he was with them so often."
The tom looked back into the forest and his long ears pricked at a small scuttling sound.

Buckleap fell into an adequate stalking position and crept forward, around a tree. A few moments later, he came back around. On his face was an unamused look, and grasped in his mouth was a dead leaf. The tom spat it out. "I'm not sure I'll ever understand a tom that chooses to hunt leaves instead of prey, though," he added in a thinly veiled attempt to hide the embarrassment fizzling through his ears. "Or plants over you for that matter, but I guess StarClan called him and all."

The tom flicked the rounded tip of his ringed tail as he began to stroll further into the woods. "Maybe down this way we can find actual prey. Let me know if you smell anything other than trees?"

Silvermist laughed softly at his comment. "You may have a rough outer shell but I bet once someone breaks through that shell your really a sweet and caring cat." Her pale green eyes never leaving Buckleaps face as she spoke. "You're probably right that part of the reason he's their a lot is because of his duties and wants to make sure his daughter is well cared for."

In the distance, she heard the cry of a bird causing her ears to twitch. It sounded like it was coming from up in one of the trees so no use trying to find it. Turning her gaze back to Buckleap she saw him stalking something so stood in her spot not even letting her tail twitch to alert his prey. But when he returned with a leaf in his mouth she began to purr which than turned into a chuckle. "Well leaves may not fill one's belly but they're fun to play in," she laughed softly.

Silvermist felt heat on her face and she lowered her head to give her chest fur a nervous lick. "Well... I'm Starclan had their reasons for picking him." Her right ear twitched. "Yea maybe," she mewed softly and followed Buckleap. But then an idea came into her head and she smiled softly and crouched low and ducked under a bush and began to slowly creep ahead of Buckleap. Then as he walked by her she leaped out and playfully tackled him and touched her paw gently to his nose. "Tag your it," she mewed teasingly before leaping off him and taking off into the Forest pausing for only a second several tail lengths away to glance behind her to see if he was following.

Buckleap persisted cluelessly, too absorbed in the rustles and shadows of the forest, until suddenly something was tackling him to the ground. His instincts served him well and he unsheathed his claws, read to swipe at his attacker, only to freeze when he saw... Silvermist. "Really?" he called after the she-cat as she bounded away. "A kit game?"

But she had already run off and, as it happened, it had been one of his favourite kit games. A moment of hesitation held onto the tom, then she turned to look at him and he was on his paws within a heartbeat. Once Buckleap was moving, he was moving fast. So long as he kept his paws on the paths worn by his clanmates and the woodland critters, the tom was catching up.

Silvermist laughed at his reaction to her tackling him. She twitched her ear and wriggled a little excitedly as if she was a kit. "What's wrong with a kit game, are you..." she didn't get to finish for he was quickly on his paws and was running after her. She laughed again then turned and ran weaving between the trees trying to put space between them but he was quickly catching up to her and she could feel his breath on her tail. Silvermist was really enjoying this and couldn't remember the last time she had so much fun. It had been moons for sure. "Catch me if you can" she laughed and swished her tail back and forth teasingly.
