[ti]Private[/ti]Taking a chance for new friends

A Black spotted tom has returned back from training with his mentor. He was working on climbing trees since that is one thing he has a hard time figuring out. He noticed another apprentice, and one he thought was very pretty she-cat, apprentice. Splashpaw. He took a deep breath and made his way over to the young apprentice. "Hi, Splashpaw... What a lovely day isn't it? Hope it is doing a great day for you today." Crowpaw meowed. 

His mentor said he could have something to eat since he had his own chore done before he went training with his mentor. He thought maybe he could ask Splashpaw if she wanted to join him tonight?

Splashpaw returned from a hunting patrol she had pretty much mastered catching and killing her prey even with her crooked jaw. It hadn't been easy, she had to pin her prey under her paw and angle her mouth just right. It had taken her two moons before she had been able to do a clean kill. She padded with three mice dangling from the left side of her jaw for that was the only side she could carry anything on. She headed for the nursery and dropped off the two plumper mise than headed out and found a nice sunny spot where she could eat. There used to be a time when she wouldn't eat in front of anyone because of how messy of an eater she was. But she had discovered if she tilted her head to the left side of her mouth she didn't drool and make as big of a mess. She had laid down and was about to take a bite when she heard someone greet her. Looking up she spotted Crowpaw and gave a friendly smile. "Hows it going Crowpaw? Yes, it's absolutely beautiful. I am doing fine, I managed to catch three mice I gave two to the queens in the nursery. What have you been up to?"

Looking down at her mouse than back up at Crowpaw. "Want to grab something to eat and join me? Or we can share my mouse but it won't give each of us more than a mouthful each." Maybe if he grabbed something else from the freshkill pile they could share eats other's meal.

He nodded, as it was a good idea, for him to go get something from the pile and maybe then they can share each other. He got to his paws and made his way to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a shrew and made his way back to the other she-cat apprentice.

He felt his heartbeat pick up the pace as he joined her again, and placed the shrew down beside them. "Which one do you want to bite of out first?" Crowpaw meowed, tilting his head. He never took his eyes off of her own eyes. He remembered she asked him a question, "Just got back from tree climbing training, what have you been up to?" he meowed.

Splashpaw watched as Crowpaw padded over to the freshkill pile and grabbed a shrew before heading back to join her. She purred softly and gave a slightly crooked smile because of her croaked jaw."Tree climbing huh, how did you do?" Splashpaw enjoyed climbing trees but preferred to keep her paws on the ground. "Mind if I have a small bite of your shrew?" She loved shrew but figured she should eat what she caught besides someone else may want the shrew. "I already told you what I did mouse brain," she teased gently with a glint of laughter in her eyes.

"I did alright. Though I'm no good at tree climbing." he meowed looking at his paws and lifted his paws when she asked for a bite of the shrew. "Yeah of course. Though we can trade you can have my shrew and I can have the mouse if you like." he meowed offering the shrew over. He does not mind the mouse.

He looked to his paws embarrassed of his slip up of asking her what she did when she already told him. He gave a small chuckle at his slip up as he seems to move past his embarrassment.

Splashpaw laughed softly, "it's ok I'm not a very good climber either I'm much better at swimming than climbing." Maybe they could go swimming sometime together that would be nice. When Crowpaw suggested they switch prey she shook her head. "Why not share each other's prey? But we don't have to it's just an idea."

She looked at her paws embarrassed about asking for a bite of his shrew. She had thought they would share each others prey but apparently only she had been thinking that.

"Yes, let's share!" Crowpaw meowed with a purr, he liked her idea much better! He let her pick which prey she wanted to try out for first. Sure he could pick but he wanted to let her pick which first. He has whatever bite that she doesn't bite out of first.

Splashpaw smiled shyly. She was glad he liked her idea she wasn't sure if she had overstepped and pushed a possibly new friend away. Reaching forward she took a small bite and tilted her head to the side of her mouth where her jaw wasn't crooked so she could hold the food in it better. Once done she licked up the couple small pieces that dribbled out. "Yummy, your turn," she purred softly.
