the merle's long, fluffy tail dusted the ground as he waited outside of the apprentices' den. the young tom had just been given yet another apprentice and he couldn't be more excited- generally, he didn't care too much about what brackenstar thought about him from a leader's viewpoint yet he felt honoured that he had been deemed trustworthy enough to mentor another apprentice. the sense of validation felt nice, despite the fact the pinetuft didn't really feel he needed it.

he had been planning to take olivepaw out training since she had been assigned to him, but hadn't come up with any ideas as to what they could do until now. yes, he was being a little unorganised, but figured olivepaw wouldn't mind- all apprentices were excited to train, right? he put on a smile as he took a few cautious steps into the den, squinting his blue eyes as he searched for a curly, grey pelt.

"olivepaw?" he whispered quietly, prodding the apprentice when he finally found her, "wake up," he purred softly, glancing around to make sure he hadn't woken anyone up.

Olivepaw was dreaming. Dreaming of running through a pretty field of wild, golden grass, flowers flying up as she dashed along. The sky was pale orange and there wasn't a cloud in sight, and she could smell the scent of falling leaves and the grass... Before something woke her up. Eyes blinked through messy curls, hazelnut color hidden by the dark grey of her face. It took her a second to process her new mentor, her mind lingering on dashing through fields, before she gave a yawn.


"Ah.. sorry, Pinetuft, I suppose I slept too long." The large feline muttered, before getting to her paws and stretching out. A curly, short tail flicked up while she bowed, her legs giving a satisfying crack. Rolling her one paw that was a bit sore after getting it stuck in some roots, she met hih blue gaze.


"So, training today? Checking borders, fighting .. hunting? Or something else?" Olivepaw asked with a turn of her head before lowering her paw.
