The red tom looked towards the warriors den, her nest that situated next to his, was empty. He frowned lightly wondering where the she-cat might have ran off too, but knew in the back of his mind that her apprentice was about to be made a warrior, and knowing her she was trying to get some last minute training in. After all once he moved to the warriors den he would be on his own. With a light flick of his tail, he left camp and headed out to find her, this was it, it was time. He had spent hours grooming his fur making sure he looked okay, not that Cherryhawk would particularly care they were almost always covered in dirt, mud, feathers, leaves, snow anything really!
His mind wandered to a conversation he had with his brother not to long ago. His brother recently had his own litter of kits, his sister two being an uncle was great, watching the little rascals run around, become apprentices but the feeling of raising them for his own that feeling was missing.
"Hey Darkstorm can we chat it’s been a minute huh.” Redwing mewed. He looked at the dark colored tom before wrapping his tail around his paws. ”I’ve been thinking about Cherryhawk lately we’ve been friends since kithood but just look at her…you think….do you think maybe there’s a chance?” He flattened his ears against his head as he looked at the she-cat from across the clearing. It was Darkstorms response that made him stifle a light chuckle.
Don’t just sit there and drool at her. Say something. Dad’s charm has got to be in ya somewhere.” The dark colored tom mewed with a smirk.
Redwing snapped back, his paws hitting the warm ground, with green-leaf here the weather was warm and refreshing. For a moon now he had been planning this. Ever since they sunned on the rock he knew that Cherryhawk was special to him, and was determined to show it. Inbetween patrols he had wandered as far past the monster tracks finding precious stones that sparkled when the sun hit them, finding the most colorful feathers he could, something others would find cheesy, but would be a reminder to the she-cat of how they met, that was the first step.
The familiar scent his hs nose, and his ears perked up and suddenly his heart started to race, it was now or never right. What’s the worst that could happen she’s already claimed someone and she says no? He’s ears flattened, that would be rather embarrassing…. With a deep breath he collected himself he walked through the undergrowth to find the spunky she-cat. ”Cherryhawk!” He mewed in greeting. He stepped forward giving the she-cat a head bump in greeting. ”Are you busy I have to show you the most amazing thing!” He mewed. That was it, the words were out of his mouth it was now or never.
