The black tom exited his den, it was his den now and that thought sounded nice. His one good eye sent a glare towards the warriors den, being betrayed by your leader wasn’t something that sounded well to him. With an irritated snort he let out a bellow calling all MothClan cats to gather. It was time for some changes…perhaps for the better. As soon as all the cats were gathered he cleared his throat, it would be the first time addressing him as their leader, so this speech would have to count.
”MothClan, as you may have heard Brackenfall decided to give up his nine lives to StarClan thus making me your leader. I will be traveling to Moon Stone at dawn to receive my lives with Batstrike holding down the fort while I am away.” He mewed. It was no surprise really. Once he got back he would pick his deputy, and they would be going to the new gathering as a new clan.
”As you may have also noticed green leaf has not been kind to us, our water sources are starting to dry up.” He knew very well cats were traveling further and further to reach an ample water supply. ”Although there is still plenty in the distance there isn’t much near the camp, so it is important to plan patrol near water so we can stay hydrated.” With lack of rain so far this season, and not much during new-leaf it seemed to cause plants to die as well, but he had just the solution.
”I feel we have the rough end of the stick in terms of territory. We will start pushing IvyClan for hunting and herb gathering territory, and MistClans side for more water as their territory has plenty of it.” With the extra stretch on both sides it would give them quite the upper hand. ”With the heat I will be setting a patrol schedule so that we don’t get overworked or overheated. A border patrol at dawn will head towards Ivyclan, a hunting patrol at the same time. At Moonhigh when the sun has set a patrol will go towards MistClan, a hunting patrol at the same time. This is to keep us cool, and to avoid working hard at sun high when the temperature reaches it’s peak.” Eveningblaze would need his warriors in tip top shape he was more than certain IvyClan and MistClan would not be thrilled with their new push again.
”I’d like to think we are the strongest clan, and the best clan, I don’t want any of you to forget that. I feel we have grown….SOFTER in our more recent days.” He started perhaps being more open to the idea of friends in other clans, forbidden relationships…too soft. ”Outsiders will not be permitted ANYWHERE on MothClan territory. One paw In MothClans border you can chase them out.” The black tom eyed Ruststripe for just a moment before moving on. ”We will NOT be taking in cats from other clans, I don’t care if they are your aunts, cousins, brother. IvyClan, MistClan and RootClan cats will not be allowed anywhere in MothClan’s camp unless they have a proper escort and they are not permitted to stay.” He mewed.
They certainly didn’t need others, MothClan was BOOMING. Healthy warriors, strong queens, apprentices, kits nothing could stop them, and the forest would know it before too much longer. ”There has also been a lack of discipline among us. Any one caught breaking the warrior code will be punished.” His eyes fell on Brackenfall for just a moment before jumping down from his perch. ”IF there are any questions, I have an open den policy, please feel free to come see me.” He mewed before firmly walking away. MothClan would rise, and be the clan he had always envisioned.
