Though Lakepaw wasn't generally seen as a very ... attentive individual, she managed to maintain her incredible excitement whilst hanging off of Jaggedstream's every word. The brown molly was still vibrating where she bounced, but her eyes were fixed on the warrior, finally willing to listen when she was engaged in the matter at hand. It helped that Lakepaw had been looking forward to learning to swim, even before she had her chat with Jaggedstream as a kitten. It was an integral part of being a Mistclanner - at least in her opinion. She didn't hear a lot of talk about other clans being comfortable in the water, so it seemed like their special tradition, in a sense.
She managed to not lose her footing, despite how exuberantly she moved. Even with the bounce in her step, she navigated the rocky terrain like it was second nature. Then again, most of her kittenhood had been spent hopping around, climbing, and generally doing things that earned her a fair share of bruises, scrapes, and cuts. Lakepaw was an active kid, and it showed in the way that she recovered from a moment of imbalance halfway through a jump.
Once she was by the riverside, the apprentice had to restrain herself from jumping in headfirst. Despite Jaggedstream's warning, the apprentice was absolutely known for her frankly reckless behaviour. An observer could practically see the pain it caused her to not launch herself at the water with aplomb - her teeth worried the inside of her mouth, her tail lashing behind her with the effort it took to not toss herself into the water. She nodded at exactly the right times while the warrior spoke, careful not to interrupt even while it felt like she might explode if she kept still too long. Once he finished the spiel on dangers and the like, the apprentice nodded vigorously, eyes shining with her enthusiasm.
"Can I get in now?"
She had, at least, enough sense to ask. Though it was a toss-up as to whether or not the apprentice would actually stay on land if she was denied the opportunity to swim.
