Daisypetals sat among a cluster of daisies, gathering them for his newest treatment. Because daisies were good for giving strength as traveling herbs, he suspected that they just might be good for bringing up the strength of a a cat who was weak from sickness as well. Or, even if they were not the main medicine, he had a feeling that one or two petals sprinkled into a mixture would aid in the taste. As he picked at the pretty flowers, a particular petal caught his attention.
That’s odd, he thought. It almost looks like a paw… a white paw.
It took a few moments for the realization to hit him, but when it did, it nearly knocked him flat.
The fluffy tomcat thought of his clanmate, picturing the white appretice before him.
Daisypetals thought he would be a good apprentice. Sure, he was a bit on the nervous side, but Daisypetals could not hold that against him. He was quite a bit like Daisypetals had been when he first joined the clan. But Would it be fair to just take him out of his warrior duties? When frostfall had chosen him, he had already shown himself to be a terrible warrior. Whitepaw still had the chance to be a warrior.
But why does warriorhood have to be the default? A voice in his mind asked him. It was almost as if Frostfall was speaking to him again. I did not choose a bad warrior. I chose a good medicine cat.
Daisypetals was unsure if it was really Frostfall who he heard, but it gave him the boost of cnfidence he needed.
Yes, Whitepaw would be a good apprentice, Daisypetals thought.
Daisypetals walked in front of a group of apprentices and warriors, all of whom had nothing better to do than help him gather up herbs before they got too dried by the sun. Among them, of course, was Whitepaw, the cat who Daisypetals wanted to be his apprentice. He quickly dismissed his little group of herb hunters, sending them to find what they came for.
“Whitepaw, you come with me.”
He guided the young Tom back to the cluster of daisies, where he hoped to show him what Starclan had told him.
“Whitepaw? Have you ever considered...being a medicine cat?”

A Daisy’s white petal in the shape of a paw.
Daisypetals...Whitepaw. Surely this was a sign that they were meant to work together? The fluffy tomcat thought of his clanmate, picturing the white appretice before him.

Next day
“Okay everyone. There are plenty of herbs around here. Nearly anything helps. If some of you can also find me some good sticks, or ivy, I can use that for bindings. Cobwebs are always needed too!” Daisypetals walked in front of a group of apprentices and warriors, all of whom had nothing better to do than help him gather up herbs before they got too dried by the sun.
