    HeronStar lay in her nest, chin delicately laid on her cream-colored paws, and nose brushing against the soft moss. Her den was messily decorated with rocks and feathers; gifts from her daughter and family. She had risen early to organize patrols with Dustytuft, as well as getting in some early morning hunting. From then on, it had been a long day of training with her apprentice, Hoppaw, and she was ready to settle in for some very well-earned rest.

After a long, hot day of training, Redbird was exhausted. But more then that, he had been preparing himself all day to confess something. Was it allowed? No. Could he be banished for it? Certainly.

Passing the warriors den and heading towards the leader's den. Once the tom was outside, he took a deep breath. {Starclan, please forgive me for not saying this earlier.} He thought. 

"Heronstar? May I speak to you for a few moments?" The serious tom asked, standing outside nervously.

    The leader's ears pricked up at the sound of someone entering her den. She raised her head off of her paws, expecting to see Dustytuft, or one of her other advisors coming to ask her for something. Instead, she was surprised to see that it was Redbird who was here to speak with her.
    "Heronstar? May I speak to you for a few moments?"
    Heronstar quickly sat up, giving Redbird her full, undivided attention. 
    'Of course," she mewed, stifling a yawn. It did not matter if she was tired. If a clanmate needed to talk, then that was what she needed to do. "That's what a leader is for, right?"
