    Tickstorm led her apprentice to the training hollow, eager to begin their first ever training session. Even though the land was still scarred by the fire, her father had made it quite clear that MothClan was strong. And that meant that their apprentices needed to be strong too.
    “I hope you don’t mind I asked Gustwhisker to come along,” she said, speaking to her one-eared charge. Although it had been moons since the fire, her voice was still tainted by a lingering roughness. “He’s never had an apprentice before, but he wanted to see how it’s done.”
    Besides, she had seen the way Gustwhisker looked at her sister, MantisClaw. They had been...quite friendly. And for all that Tickstorm could pretend not to care, she could not ignore when something was happening with her own kin. But thus far, she had seen Gustwhisker to be a good cat, so she could not find any reaons for her sister not to trust him, nor for him to not help in today’s training. She halted, immedietly beginning to stretch out her legs. It would not do for her to be getting cramps in the middle of a training session.
    “So, one of the most important things you will need to know is how to defend yourself,” Tickstorm mewed, glancing between the warrior and her apprentice. “Gustwhisker, please come at me so I can demonstrate.”

When Tickstorm had asked if Gustwhisker wanted to tag along to her and Volepaw's training session, he was slightly taken aback, but nodded to the older warrior. "I don't see why not. Might give me some ideas for my own future apprentice." He meowed with a straight face. Gustwhisker was still a young warrior, only 26 moons. While he had gotten used to his own warrior duties, at any point, he could be given an apprentice. The tom wasn't exactly known for his kind attitude. Though, that seemed to have been changing a bit. It may or may not have to do with the fact that Gustwhisker had been becoming a bit... closer... to his fellow warrior Mantisclaw. And while Gustwhisker was usually prickly on the outside, deep down, he was a soft hearted cat with a hopeless romantic side. He didn't even know if Mantisclaw had anything for him beyond the night of infatuation they had, but one could hope, right?

But regardless, the mink tabby warrior agreed to join Tickstorm's training session. He had traveled alongside the two other cats until they reached the training grounds. It would be just a clearing, but it was all a clearing now, technically. Regardless, battle training was to commence.

After Tickstorm's explanation, she commanded that the young tom attack her to show the apprentice some defensive moves. He quietly nodded, approaching his fellow warrior - still about a foxlength away- dropping to a more combat-ready stance, yellow eyes gleaming with focus and determination. Even though it was just training, it was important for a warrior to always be ready. He was in this stance for about half as second before his muscles bunched, springing him forward, front legs extended, but claws sheathed.
