Jaggedstream carefully took his unsheathed claws and latched them under the soft cluster of moss, gently tugging the green lump from the surface of the rock beneath it. Steady, steady.... the tom thought as moss began to peel off. Thankfully, the sun wasn't shining in his eyes, but he could see the light flutter from above and through the tree tops. Soon, it would be leaf-bare, and good moss would be hard to find in the open, so the tom decided to collect all he could now. It was going to be an especially difficult leaf-bare due to the lack of prey. The warmth of their dens, nests, and each other might be all they would have until next green-leaf...
With a final tug, the moss was dispatched from the rock in one piece, held by the large warrior's paw. He inspected it with a careful eye, checking for any hitch hiking bugs that might have snuck their way into the tiny crevices, or any brown patches that would become brittle and uncomfortable to lay one. Once Jaggedstream had decided the moss was in good condition, he placed it onto the pile next to him, a growing bundle of the green treasure that the tom adored. He smiled at his work, happy with what he had collected. While he wasn't known to be much of a hunter of prey, he could always be relied on to supply the camp with bedding material. He was content with his lot in life, even with the hardships that had recently ensued.
Standing up and stretching out, the sunlight dappled his pelt, creating dancing patterns on his coat. With a grunt, he finished his stretching and stood up, shaking out his pelt, a few moss debris being launched into the air. The large MistClan warrior then bent down and grasped the pile of freshly plucked moss between his jaws. Thankfully, he was large enough to carry it all, considering it was a sizable bundle.
A bustle of the forest foliage caught the tabby's attention and he perked up his ears, his pose remaining relaxed. He would try to call out, but considering his mouth was full. Instead, he just watched, waiting to see who, or what, would emerge to greet him.
