Requirements

+ You must be active

+ You must not have broken any rules in the past three months

+ You must be willing to be medicine cat should your current medicine cat die

+ You must understand that if you ever become inactive, you will be removed from the role

+ Your cat must be over 4 moons old. If they are not yet 6 moons, they will become medicine cat apprentice when they reach that age

You may make a new character to apply for the role with, but understand that you may not get the role and you will have to write the character as a normal apprentice/warrior.

Your cat does not have to be a kit or apprentice to apply for this role. Older cats can also apply.

Please make sure you have read all the information on the Information board before applying.

All members may apply as long as they meet the requirements. This includes brand new members. As long as you meet the requirements and are seen posting active IC content, you have a chance at gaining the role.

You may apply with more than one character. Please use separate forms for each character.

Character Name: Redbird

Role Wanted: Both/Either

Strengths:
Redbird has plenty of experience, in and out of both warrior life and personal life. He is a father to a forbidden litter that he recently took into Ivyclan, his mother was banished from the clan on account of abusing him and his brother, Greengale, and he has faced multiple injuries that permanently scarred or disfigured him. His viewpoint is widely spread, and he isn't afraid of a little blood nor is he unwilling to help treat those with horrific injuries and work with them on returning to a warrior lifestyle.

Along with this, he is a warrior, proving himself over and over to the clan. Even with his blinded eye and lame front leg, he continues to work, and strive to become better.

Finally, Redbird isn't looking to have more kits after his Mothclan mate, Leafeyes, was killed in the fire. This means he can spend his time instead treating patients, and working more closely with others and wouldn't be experiencing any romantic feelings.
Weaknesses:
Redbird has recently been exposed for breaking the code and having a forbidden litter with a Mothclan warrior. Along with this, his mother was also a traitor and that history may become an issue with older warriors after his forbidden relationship.

Redbird is also incapable of feeling pain, half blind, and has a limp. He may not be able to relate to injuries like another cat could, despite his own.

Why?: Redbird cannot be a warrior forever, especially with his lack of sensitivity to pain. If he has any more injuries, retirement may be the only remaining option. However, if he becomes a medicine cat, there is a less likely chance of this, and because he was a warrior, he can defend his patients even as a medicine cat. Redbird has seen much more then most cats have in their lifetimes, and though he can't feel, he's 'felt' plenty of emotional pain and can relate on a personal level to other patients. Plus, his dis figuration may make others feel better in comparison to him. Plus, it might get him to relax and bring out his more joking side more.

Strengths: (Three minimum) Caring: Flaxpelt puts her Clan before anything else, despite her ego. She learned the importance of caring for her Clan at a young age, and will never put herself over her Clanmates. She is always willing to put some effort into helping her Clan.
Good Hunter: Flaxpelt finds feeding the Clan very important, and has a natural hunting skill. She never allows the fresh kill pile to be empty. When she isn't working (or sleeping), she can spend her time hunting for the Clan to make sure they are fed at all times.
Calm: Flaxpelt doesn't panic over dire situations. She can handle them calmly, not allowing panic to take over. She is able to use her mind quickly and effectively in these situations.

Weaknesses: (Three minimum) Lazy: Flaxpelt needs a lot of sleep to function, and always sleeps in late. This could make being a medicine cat apprentice a challenge because of all their duties. She is usually only fully awake around sunhigh.
Big Ego: Flaxpelt thinks of herself as higher than others. She often overestimates her abilities, and tries to take over tough situations on her own, thinking she will be able to handle them. Especially as a new apprentice, this could make it difficult to get her to understand her weaknesses.
Physically Weak: Flaxpelt is small and not the strongest in battle. She also tends to overheat in warmer months, which could be an obstacle for all the work a medicine cat does in all weather conditions. A lack of physical strength already affects her as a warrior, and there are some disadvantages to it even as a medicine cat.

Why?: (Why should your cat be medicine cat apprentice? What do they have to offer the clan? Is anything in their history relevant? Etc.) She has learned how to care for the Clan, and makes it a priority. She has always preferred caring for the Clan over fighting rivals. She has a very caring instinct, and cannot deny a cat in need. She can remain neutral in Clan conflict, not allowing ot to get in the way of her work.

strengths

nettlestripe is a very analytical tom, able to determine the condition of a cat based on it's wound and how deep it would be. he doesn't care what the cat would have to say, the truth lies in the wound alone. allow him to look at it and he would know what to do. he's also a very determined tom and persistent in solving the mystery behind someone's wound or sickness. he will do what it takes to solve what lies behind the sickness or wound. some are simple, and some more complicated than most. nettlestripe is better known as curious. though he may not know the diagnoses at that given moment, it's very rare for nettlestripe to take an interest in a cat or any other wound. when his interest is motioned, it can result in him continuously try and try to solve the injury. this won't be for the cat he is trying to save, but it is the satisfaction to know that he did what he could. whether the wound/sickness was treated or not.

weaknesses

nettlestripe does not care for the cats he is treating, he only cares for the diagnosis. lacking humility when he is wrong or when a cat dies. he is also very sarcastic and tends to ignore complaints, even when his title would be threatened to be stripped right out from under him, he doesn't seem to have any care whether his treatments hurt the cat or heal the cat. all he ever wants to know is what cured their sickness, and how he can treat it again. most medicine cats want to help other cats or the whole clans, but nettlestripe only wants to solve the puzzle. whether his patient dies or lives. he only wants to know how it affected them, and how he could treat it again. some call nettlestripe a selfish and self-centered piece of dung, and some believe he's a genius of medicine. he does not care what cats will call him, he only cares that he solved the puzzle.

why should your cat be a medicine cat

as explained above, nettlestripe does not actually care about other cats like most medicine cats do. he only cares that he can solve the puzzle. I think it would be rather interesting to see a cat who doesn't care about others. I also have a genuine weakness in cranky medicine cats like yellowfang. he's this mean and old medicine cat who never trusts the word of a patient. he believes that everyone lies to him and that if he wants to heal other cats then he should do it himself. the idea of a medicine cat who won't trust the word of the injured is personally interesting to me. I hope to look forward to his future development and his interaction between injured cats because of his psychology.

I do not ever tend to have nettlestripe seek a development relationship wise, so please avoid asking him to develop with your cats!
