[ti]Private[/ti]It's Not A Walk In The Park

The cinnamon tom crouched on a large rock in the park. The chatter of Twolegs was only a soft murmur in the distance, barely a distraction. Nutmeg had came here to hunt, and he was intent on stalking birds on the ground from the high rock. The birds were pecking at seeds below, seemingly distracted. Nutmeg moved forward, the rock's hard surface helping to hide his paw steps. He was ready to pounce.
With a little yowl of excitement, he judged the timing wrong and pounced off the rock, landing rather awkwardly on his round belly. The birds all flew away in a flurry of fluttering feathers. The air was knocked out of his chest, and he had to catch his breath before staggering to his paws. He looked around, disappointed and disoriented, wondering if there were any other opportunities for the park to offer.

Some distance away, a young black and white tom watched the large bellied feline attempt to hunt. He was quite amused by it, becuase he could relate. Graphite was never great on his paws. In fact, rarely did he ever find a need to use them for much more than wandering. The city provided for him. 

"A new possible friend", Graphite thought almost immediately. He brushed through some sparse thicket and got a better view of the clumsy hunter. Graphite noticed the cat's fluffed out coat and unusual coat. Something told him he recognized this cat, but he dismissed the thought
 

"Need some help?", Graphite offered, sounding more confident than he was about hunting. Or this new acquaintance.

"Need some help?", a voice behind Nutmeg meowed.
Nutmeg jumped and fluffed out his thick pelt even more than it already was. He noticed a white tom with black markings scattered around his face and paws. With an awkward mrrow of laughter, he looked over at the tom and replied quietly, "Yeah."
Nutmeg sat down by the rock and stared off, noticing a nearby flock of birds near a park bench. He waved his tail excitedly and pointed towards the birds. "Let's go for those birds." He allowed the white and black tom to take the lead. Nutmeg was a young and awkward cat, who had just taken this small adventure away from home to practice his hunting. He knew that this cat was probably a way better hunter than him.
