[ti]Open[/ti]Small Journey for Batkit

    Big barrier. Well, to Batkit, anyway. Today Batkit didnt feel like laying around and doing nothing, which was very odd for a kit like herself. She loved to be in the presence of her mother, always. But not today! Today she decided to see what was beyond the nursery, if there was one. What was out there? Was it safe? Her mother and siblings were asleep due to the milk bar just closing down. Taking wobbly steps towards the entrance of the small den, she needed to take giant steps to over come the moss beddings, then the little barrier to keep the newborns from wriggling out on accident. Climbing over the barrier, she peeked her small head out into the other side of the entrance. Wind blew gently past the kit, causing her to squeak in surprise and leap backwards. It was cold out there! Why would anyone want to leave this sacred- no. Today, she thought, she would try something new. Climbing out of the den,  once more, she hopped onto the floor and nearly fell on her hindquarters. Then... she saw it. 

The leaders rock. The thing they all took turns playing, leader and warrior! Batkit puffed out her chest, feeling rather proud, and wobbled towards the rock. It was absolutely MASSIVE. Folding her ears against her skull, she peered upon the giant rock, putting a paw forth before a shadow loomed over her.

Tanglespring lay out on the ground on his back, soaking up sun rays in the chilly air. He loved days like these, where the sun warmed the earth despite the chill. He rolled around onto his belly and looked around the camp. Warriors mulling about... well, the ones that were left, anyway. The young tom quickly banished the thought from his mind. He would not dwell on such things.

Something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. A small thing, not quite big enough to be an apprentice. He looked over and saw a young kit scrambling out of the nursery. How long had it been, since he was that young? A long, long time.

Tanglespring got to his paws and strode over to the kit with his long legs. He avoided making eye contact with any warriors that had been deemed elite, not out of the sense that he was above them, but out of embarrassment.

He turned his attention once more to the kit. Young and uncorrupted, unlike himself. ”Hello, kit.” he greeted her. From the look of her pelt, Tanglespring assumed this must be one of Cherryhawk’s kits. ”Not planning on gettin’ int’a any trouble, are ya?” he teased with a slight accent Tansysong had rubbed off on him.
