(Call-back to *this* thread.)
Scorpio stood on his rock, staring at the empty space in front of him with a tired look that soon hardened into one of determination. There had been no new kits for far too long now, and, with the future of the Alliance hanging in the balance, it was time to change that. "Cats of the Alliance!" he yowled. The tom had toyed with the idea of calling for them at dawn, when there was a better chance they'd all be there, but decided in the end that it was important to do it at Sunhigh. If his mother's superstition about Sunhigh blinding StarClan to their announcements was true, he couldn't risk meddling with that.
As soon as cats started to appear, Scorpio began to speak loudly. He couldn't wait to see how many actually showed up, or he might see how few were really behind him on this, which would only spark doubt. Scorpio straightened up. "Our attack on the clans is rapidly approaching. Unfortunately, the area I was looking at as a temporary home for us has been filled with Twolegs this past quarter-moon, and I found out this morning that they are neither friendly or easy to evade."
Scorpio stuck out his left hind leg, which he'd been holding stiffly before, to show a swollen and slightly twisted ankle.
"Obviously, that's no place for kits. I've been unable to find anywhere else since, working on my own, so we will have to bring them here and hope that a good place makes itself available soon afterwards."
The rogue guessed that by this point, everyone that was going to show up to his announcement had. It was time to lay out the plan, properly. "We will leave here at Moonhigh the night of the attack, or shortly before, so we don't run into the clans on their way to or from the Gathering. I think it would be best for us to go alone or in pairs, to meet in MothClan's camp or just outside. Follow the scent trails from the borders. Those that come with me, I can take you there directly, as I have it on good authority that they rebuilt their camp exactly where it was before the fire. We will need to move as quickly as we can, to be able to get in and out of the camps safely. We’ll fight if it benefits us to do so, but our aim here is to go unnoticed for as long as possible. If you hear my yowls, three in a row, it means you need to turn back and come home immediately."
Scorpio shifted, feeling a prickle of pain in his hind leg. He knew that it would make it more difficult for him to be as swift and silent as he urged the others to be. The tom took a deep breath. "I said something a few moons ago now, before so many left, that I intend to honor still. I announced that when we attacked MothClan, we would do it with three cats on the council. I haven't offered the duty to anyone else before now because I didn't trust anyone with it."
His eyes fell on the few cats left. "Luckily, I believe that the untrustworthy have now... weeded themselves out."
He stepped forward.
"Belial... Spire... would you two join me on the council?"
