Oh, Bearstar. Mothstar's face betrayed no signs of knowing anything otherwise, but, inside his head, he laughed at the idea of there being no serious illnesses going around. His own clan had already had deaths - and horrific ones at that, if the reports of what happened were too be believed. Hopefully, it would not spread. The other clans may not be his allies, but that didn't mean Mothstar wanted to condemn them to gruesome deaths either.
When Bearstar stepped back, the largest leader waited for one moment - a second of politeness to allow Owlstar to take her turn should she want to - before he stood up and took the lead.
"MothClan is surviving." He announced in his low, rumbling voice. "I am pleased to say that we have a new warrior - Lynxheart - as well as three new apprentices. The clan wishes Sheeppaw, Emberpaw, and Honeypaw luck in the future." As he spoke, he made sure the make eye contact with any of the mentioned cats that were attending the gathering as their name was mentioned.
"I am sure that we are not the only clan to have noticed a decrease in prey as, of course, it is leaf-bare. We are finding ways to make do, though, and no clan member is starving to death." Said ways did include raiding the edges of the other clan's territories and occasionally eating what they could find in the twoleg town, but at least it meant they weren't going hungry. Mothstar was not going to mention this, though. This wasn't a good time to start an argument with either of the other clans, and admitting that they were eating twoleg food sometimes was just embarrassing.
"We are also-" Whatever Mothstar was about to say next, it was cut off by a savage coughing fit. His ears flattered back in irritation as he coughed and coughed and coughed. This was not the time for this! He was supposed to be being strong, not-
Still coughing, something weird happened to Mothstar's muscles. His entire body violently twitched and, seemingly of its own accord, his feet stumbled forwards - not stopping when they came to the edge of the monster they were sitting upon. The warrior fell and landed on his side with a loud THUMP - unable to control his body to turn himself and land on his feet. Mothstar didn't even have time to groan before his body started to violently convulse. A small pool of blood began to form under his thrashing head, the red liquid rapidly flowing out of his mouth now, and his eyes seemed to roll back into his skull.
The leader heard no noise and saw no movement as the seizure continued. A long, low gurgle could be heard coming from his mouth and then, finally, the huge warrior stilled - his first life lost.
