Physically, there is nothing all that remarkable in Nettletooth's appearance. She is a she-cat of average size, although the length and thickness of her fur give her a slightly more overweight appearance. Her fur has always had a somewhat spiky texture - sticking out at odd angles when dry, giving a clue to her namesake. The ruffle of fur around her throat hints are a heritage of thick-furred cats, as does her bottle-brush tail.
Most of her coloring is a diluted ginger-tan, with the faintest hint of tabby striping around her eyes and nose. A white, lop-sided blaze dots the top of her nose, down the right side of her muzzle, and encompasses her chin, before traveling down her throat and fading into the sandiness of the rest of her. Her whiskers are long, and stark white against her dun coloring, while she was the only kit in her parent's litter to inherit her mothers' amber-yellow eyes.
Despite her current position in Mistclan, the last thing anyone would ever picture Nettletooth as would be a mother. She has always been a solitary soul, choosing to keep aloof and to herself - as much as any clan cat can. One cannot blame her, or say she does not support her clan - she would gladly die to defend it. But her drive to succeed is incredibly strong, and she will do what is needed to get her way, or the way of her leaders. If she feels like something is not in the better interest of Mistclan, she will do everything within her power to destroy it - even if that means stooping to somewhat unscrupulous activities.
She is certainly a perfectionist - being incredibly hard on those she is meant to train in an effort to do what is best for the clan. She is highly judgmental and doesn't stand by any cat who isn't afraid to get their own claws dirty. A nasty rumor spread at the beginning of her pregnancy that she chose to have kits not out of love, but out of total disdain for the current crop of young blood in the clan; feeling like she should supplement the more weak-hearted cats with her own blood and teachings that only a mother can truly pass on to a new generation.
There is no doubt her expectations for her kin has always been high, as she pushes those around her to be the best that they should be - to her standards, at least. Those who don't measure up better be prepared to have their ears clawed and be added to a long list of grudges that Nettletooth has yet to forget.
Though outwardly cold, she is an extremely passionate cate, easily ruled by her emotions - lashing out and snapping over things that others may think are insiginificant. She has incredibly high standards for everyone - including herself. But the problem is she has never once failed to succeed her own expectations - it is others who are a constant disappointment to her, that cause her to lash out in unexpected ways.
Nettletooth has always been a Mistclan cat, born in a long, proud lineage within the clan. Her parents, Furzebloom and Darkfeather were quite proud of their litter - although it was clear from the start that Darkfeather was disappointed not to have a son. Nettlekit, in turn, pushed herself more than her siblings to try and prove to her father that she could be that cat - the one to make him proud, and out of her season of apprentices she was one of the first to receive her full warrior name.
Still, the life of a clan cat is not an easy one, it was shortly into her second year of life that she lost both her mother and her father, as well as two of her siblings, to various illnesses. It was a hard season, but it served to teach Nettletooth a very important lesson - she would not die the way they did, sick in their nests, calling out weakly for a Medicine Cat to Heal them. No, she wanted to die a fighter - in a blaze of glory truly worthy of her. Left alone with only her sister Mallownose to commiserate with, she grew colder still; an almost robotic fanatic for her clan, choosing to defend others by attacking first and asking questions later.
But the biggest betrayal was yet to come, as Mallownose would explain to her one night that she was carrying kits; those of a Mothclan warrior. Furious, she turned on her sister, demanding that if she so longed to be in that sorry excuse for a clan, she could go beg mercy from them. In the argument that ensued, she had injured her sister enough to cause lameness in her back left leg. Later, it was discovered that Mallownose had never made it to Mothclan; she and her kits perishing on the boarders of their clan. Nettletooth has never seemed remorseful for her actions; feeling vindicated in what she did, and that her sister had wronged her, and Mistclan, first.
For the next several seasons, Nettletooth seemed to work tirelessly to prove herself as a Mistclan advocate through and through, while still somehow remaining aloof and diassociated with the friendlier aspects of clan life. She had comrades, not friends; Compatriots, not companions. So it was a shock to many when she announced she would momentarily be giving up her warrior duties to attend herself in the nursery - as far as anyone knows, she had never been close enough with a tom to become pregnant. When her kits were born, she showed that evidently she still cared for something; as she has become fiercely devoted to them. Many mothers are proud of their young anf convinced they will do something marvelous; Nettletooth seems convinced that her kits are the best and brightest to have been born in a long, long time.
Carried Home is a Warriors roleplay forum. We feature four clans - all four of which have futures that heavily depend on what your characters do - as well as a 50 word count minimum on RP posts, and a functioning currency and shop.
While most of the action does center around our four clans, members are also permitted to make loners, rogues, and kittypets. You can also make both StarClan and Dark Forest characters.
