Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice.

Shadow is a stately looking tom, with thin fur and the typical appearance of an adult oriental short haired cat. His fur could be considered so close cropped, one would almost assume he was bald; but it it is in fact a velvet texture across his body; just enough to keep him warm and comfortable in all but the coldest weather. He has a long, regal face with large bat-like ears on either side; a lanky body hiding the fact that the meat on his bones is filled with muscle.
His particular adaptation for fighting has been to guard from the trees; using the powerful muscles in his long back legs to propel him down on his opponents. It helps that his coat allows him to blend in to his surroundings perfectly; a dusky gray with hints of silvery white, most prominently in a blaze under his chin, he is spotted over his back and sides with small dime-sized spots and ticks; as his name suggests, like spots of shadow through leaf-filled trees.
He has olive-green eyes that almost seem to disappear into the darkness of his coat; he is a tom who is hard to spot if he doesn't want to be found.
Shadow is a Tribe's cat through and through; perfectly content with doing his job for the betterment of all cats under his protection. He often has felt uncomfortable when he is not the senior cat amongst his guarding groups, as he would rather feel like he was in control - as the eldest- rather than having to sit back and take orders from anyone other that Firstspeaker or Stream. He follows the laws and edicts of the Tribe without deviation; there is no real wiggle room, no need for improvement on the laws that have served them for as many years as anyone can remember.
He rarely shows overly passionate emotions since the death of his wife and kits; but he has a deep mistrust of outsiders, particularly the ravishing of the lands that clan cats are doing. While he seemingly not outright vicious of them, he is simply willing to bide his time and wait for their ancestors to drive them off; or to give a sign on how to do it. A Deep believer in The Tribe of Endless Hunting, he awaits the happy day that he can be reunited with his small family; the rest of his days are spent in a sort of Melancholy tolerance with a driving desire to see his tribe thrive.
Shadow was born into the Tribe; as his parents and grandparents before him, and quickly showed that he was going to be a strong young cat. While many of his siblings grew to be quick prey-hunters, Shadow was selected, despite the lanky body long legs that seemed to hint at speed rather than strength, to be a home-guard. He proved himself to work as much as the more bulky cats, and by the time his to-be hood was at an end, he was one of the more promising recruits, showing an ingenuity for using his body type to his advantage and particularly at scaling heights to attack from above when needed.
During this time, while he was far from a recluse among his tribemates, he forged a strong relationship with a she-cat named Fruit that Ripens on Vine (Vine). Shadow and Vine were often found snuggled together in the sun, and it was no surprise to later find out that she was expecting his kits; a happy day for all those involved.
The proud parents would soon welcome four strong kits into the world: Yellow tail of chirping Bird, Little Mouse that Creeps Under Bush, Ripple of Disappearing Turtle and Dapple of Sun through Trees. He was a proud father, and for a time could be seen on days without duties attending to them and playing games. They wanted their children to be in love with their lands as he was, and Vine and Shadow would often take them on excursions when they were old enough.
Unfortunately, it was on one such excursion, when Shadow was distracted with tribe duties and could not join them, that tragedy struck. Vine and her kits did not return to the cave; and a search was sent out for them. Unfortunately, Vine's body was found shortly after; set upon by some cat for accidentally treading onto 'their' territory. In an effort to drive her off, the cats who had newly come to these lands (most assume a slightly overzealous Mothclanner) drove her away. She would fall, exhausted, and crack her skull on a rock; dying almost instantly.
Her kits, their kits, were never to be found; but without a mother to care for them, and given that nights around that time were bitterly cold, it was assumed that were they not killed outright, that they perished in the elements. It was later confirmed that they were spotted in the Tribe of Endless Hunting, alongside their mother.
Devastated, Shadow vowed to never take another mate; and to one day find a way to be worthy of being with them again. While it is sometimes odd for a wild cat to have only one mate, Shadow has apparently kept his vow to her, and in many long moons has never sought to sire another family.

Carried Home is a Warriors roleplay forum. We feature four clans - all four of which have futures that heavily depend on what your characters do - as well as a 50 word count minimum on RP posts, and a functioning currency and shop.
While most of the action does center around our four clans, members are also permitted to make loners, rogues, and kittypets. You can also make both StarClan and Dark Forest characters.
