It felt like she'd just named new warriors and apprentices yesterday, and already the Gathering was upon her. That bright silver glow she'd looked up to four seasons ago had lost its charm- if anything, it now felt like a challenge. "Everyone attending, be ready in the next few moments," Bearstar alerted her clan as she prepared herself to head out. She'd have to go through the pain of announcing everyone's names again, but that was unavoidable, really. In another six moons, it would happen again, when Mothpaw, Roundpaw, and Hootpaw were ready for their warrior names. "Let's go, then."
They followed their usual route, but to the leader's surprise they were the first clan to arrive this moon. After a brief check-in with Sabletail, she wove out of the ranks of her warriors and leapt up to the top of the monsters to sit in silence until the other clans arrived.
Mothpaw sauntered into the Moon's Maw confidently, his nose lifted in a challenging stare at... nobody, in particular, since IvyClan and MothClan hadn't arrived yet. He still didn't really get why there was a whole clan with the same name as him, only dimly remembering a few stories about some Mothstar guy. If he was so cool, how come he was dead, huh? Satisfied to wait for challengers, the fluffy brown and white tom plopped down at the edge of his clan's ranks, trying to look casual as he stared into the grassy wall around the clearing.
Silvermist stood next to her kits, she was so proud of them they had been training for a couple of moons now. She was surprised Webpaw had been chosen but it had been almost a moon since her last seizure. She licked her daughter's ear it would be her very first gathering. "Stay by my side ok," she mewed softly then took off running after Bearstar when she gave the word.
Webpaw was bouncing off her paws, she was so excited to have been picked she couldn't wait to go to the gathering for the first time. When her mom licked her ear she ducked down and squirmed away. "Mom I'll be fine I'm eight moons old now I can take care of myself." When their leader called out to them to move she did so and prayed to Starclan that she wouldn't have a seizure during the gathering.
Maplepaw held his head high, it was about time he got picked to go to one of these stupid gatherings. He was ten moons old and until today he had yet to go to a gathering. He didn't really care about sharing news and what not with other clan cats but he was interested in hearing what was going on in the other clans first hand. Maybe he could get some younger apprentices to spill their guts about what's happening in their clans.
"Alright then, Roundpaw?" Duskypetal made sure to keep track of his apprentice, even as they and the rest of the clan prepared to scatter about. "Don't worry about sticking around your siblings or the other Mistclan apprentices. This is the time to make friends with other apprentices - meet some of the other clans, enjoy yourself!" Another cat may say that it was time for them to look for advantages over other clans; but other Mistclanners could be a cynnical lot. "Look - if you think you'll have a problem, you let me know, alright?"
Another Mistclanner, Nettletooth, was keep a closer eye on her own apprentice. Namely, she didn't want Maplepaw to embarrass her. But much to her surprise, and she would be pressed to admit it...the cat did impress her somewhat. He wasn't the total dead fish she had assumed he would be. He may even survive to be a proper warrior; something she'd be pressed to think about merely a month before.
"Watch who you're hanging out with." She snapped. "Keep your eyes on the other clans...maybe you'll learn something important."
Carried Home is a Warriors roleplay forum. We feature four clans - all four of which have futures that heavily depend on what your characters do - as well as a 50 word count minimum on RP posts, and a functioning currency and shop.
While most of the action does center around our four clans, members are also permitted to make loners, rogues, and kittypets. You can also make both StarClan and Dark Forest characters.
