Froststar had been quiet as she'd taken her place as MistClan's leader, her snow-colored pelt shimmering silver in the moonlight, her cold gaze sweeping over the forms of the cats below. She wouldn't look to MothClan's leader- in her eyes, they were heathens, disloyal cats focused on dominating the forest, rather than coexisting with the other clans. And the one who lead them, Mothstar, had always left a sour taste in her mouth. It was for the best that he was no longer in MistClan... she only wanted warriors who were loyal to her clan.
The frosty leader's ears perked as Owlstar called for the gathering to start, though her eyes remained on the crowd below. Even as Owlstar spoke of how well IvyClan had settled in, Froststar's scowl remained in place. She was usually so calm and level-headed, but she couldn't help the storm that had been brewing in her belly since she arrived. There was no way this gathering would finish without something bad happening. When Owlstar stepped back, Froststar raised her head. "MistClan has also fared rather well. Prey runs well through our rivers and fields, and we've gained two new apprentices this moon: Finchpaw, who I have taken as my own apprentice, and Meteorpaw, who is being mentored by Brighteyes." Even with the dark expression on her face, the she-cat's voice rang out strong and confident, her words echoing among the many cats gathered before her. "We will certainly face many challenges this leaf-bare, but MistClan will face it well-prepared."
Froststar had a feeling these words weren't true.
"But we haven't been without sorrow- MistClan lost many cats on the journey here. Only recently, we lost another... Jasperfrost, one of our loyal warriors." Froststar glanced to Rushflow, remembering her promise that she'd allow him to speak about Jasperfrost's death. Truthfully, Froststar hadn't known the tom well- many of MistClan's warriors had their own social circles, their own little families that they stuck with. Froststar was no different, though she always felt a deep sorrow when she lost a clan mate... it was, after all, her duty to keep them safe. "My deputy, Rushflow, would like to share a few words about our fallen comrade. Please lend him your ears," Froststar requested, fully turning her gaze towards Rushflow.

Rivershine had sat herself on the edge of the group of IvyClan cats, her wide eyes taking in the MistClan and MothClan cats. For a moment, she couldn't help wondering if Shadepaw was among them... she found herself trying to pick out the apprentice's gold-and-black pelt from a sea of cats, but she soon caught herself, quickly looking away from MistClan. The chattering of the leaders as they started sharing their news barely registered with Rivershine as she felt embarrassment heat her ears, even if no one had seen how she'd been so focused on searching for her friend.
The calico warrior lifted her head just in time to see Owlstar signal an end to her announcement, though she was soon spacing out once more at Froststar's halfhearted announcement.
