After last night's events, Milkpaw had been left restless, but feeling a bit less alone.
He really, really, wanted to go hunting today, but he just didn't know how to ask Turtletongue. He really didn't want to bother his mentor, but Turtletongue was really understanding about things, he'd understand, hopefully.
After sitting near the apprentices' den, looking vaguely uncomfortable and shuffling his paws anxiously, he pushed down his nerves and walked over to where his mentor was sitting near the freshkill pile.
"Um, I was just wondering if we could maybe go- go hunting? Maybe- maybe in the meadow?" Milkpaw murmured in a quiet, polite voice.

Turtletongue felt a touch lazy that day. It was warm, the birds were singing, the camp was finally starting to recover from sharing their space with two extra clans. Everything seemed perfect. His apprentice, Milkpaw, was a sweet little thing, who he hoped he would be able to guide gently along the path to becoming a warrior. She would make a good one, and a good mother should she choose to be one some day.

The white and grey tom was lounging near the fresh-kill pile, having just finished a mouse, and was feeling quite content. Suddenly a small voice shook him out of his stupor. Milkpaw.

He smiled softly at her and stood with a yawn and a stretch. "Of course we can! Some hunting and a bit of excersize will do my fat self some good!" he purred with a chuckle. In reality, he was a slim cat with nary a trace of fat on him even during good times of hunting when everyone had more than enough to eat.

"Where is it you were thinking? Maybe Mothclan territory? Or perhaps far out and away from clan lands?" He had a charming twinkle of teasing glinting in his eyes as he spoke those words "Or perhaps for now we should simply stay in our clan's lands so we don't catch anything smelly! Like frogs and rats!" He chuckled again before giving one last stretch "shall we be off then?"
