Mantisstar looked ahead and her ears perked a little as she saw that Moon's Maw was empty. Recently she'd noticed that IvyClan were the early birds in regards to the Gathering, and had decided that it was important for MothClan to get there first on her first moon as leader, to make a good impression. It would give her time to speak to all of her clanmates without risking them not hearing her, or stepping on each other's toes, too. It had also become a concern that the rogues would try to attack again tonight, so Mantisstar had posted extra guards and asked the remaining adults to stay up until they got home. She wasn't sure if this was supposed to be her job or Tickstorm's, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
"MothClan, listen up! I don't want any loose lips tonight. I'll tell them that Tansystar is gone, I'll talk about the kits the rogues took, and I'll mention that Cedarleap has passed, but I don't want anyone to say anything about Palesun. As far as the other clans can know, we still have a medicine cat. He's just very busy. Use your good sense. Do you all understand?" Nods and mutters followed her question. That was not an acceptable level of energy for Mantisstar. "I said, do you all understand?" She heard a yowl of agreement from the crowd, and nodded, satisfied. "Good, then chatter together until the others get here. Bundle up with each other if you get cold. We don't want the other clans to think we're scared or something."

Tickstorm walked behind her sister, this time as her deputy. She just wished that their father would have been there to see how far the two sisters had come since they were kits, nipping at his tail. But perhaps it was for the better that he was not there, after all that had happened. No one really knew where he was. Deep in her heart, Tickstorm knew that the EveningStar she loved, the one that had been her father, was gone long before his body dissapeared. A lot was gone. EveningStar, TansyStar, Palestorm, Strikekit, Fatkit...At least, Tickstorm hoped, there was a chance at getting the kits back from wherever the rogues had spirited them away to. There just had to be.
HeronStar led her clan into the gathering, trying to keep her head held high despite all that was running through it. Although her clan had not been directly affected, she was desperate to know about the situation with the missing kits, as well as if MothClan had ever sorted out their issues in leadership. On top of this, of course, there was the issue of whomever had attacked her at the border. She had not had the strength to close the borders, but she had increased IvyClan's defenses, insisting that no cat be completely alone, and that anyone who went out told at least one other cat where they would be, just in case something happened. HeronStar had a clan to protect, and a family. She could not risk losing anyone else. HeronStar was admittedly quite glad to see that the only other clan to have arrived yet was one other than MistClan. She did not need the gathering starting off with her warriors being suspicious of every cat they saw. "Alright," she mewed to her clan, pausing out of ear-shot of the already gathered cats. "I ask that you do not share all of IvyClan's news with the others. I can take care of that." She would not demand silence from her clanmates, but she could request their discretion. "Let me address the issue with MistClan." This being said, she strode down into the gathering space, her clan at her heels.
"My horse is the greatest horse CUZ ITS NOT REALLY A HORSE AT ALL! Its more like a tortilla, On top of another tortilla Filled with gooey cheese fresh salsa too They forgot my sour cream....."
Dogstar trudged along, his breath billowing in clouds in the frosty air. His coat was short and didn’t do much to keep him warm. It certainly didn’t help his mood, either. If anything, it made him more impatient; and he already wasn’t looking forward to speaking to Heronstar.
As he and his Clan neared, he stopped and turned to face the cats behind him. ”Listen up. I need you all to stay calm during tonight’s gathering. Do not pick any fights with anyone under any circumstance. I will deal with this.” as he turned to pad into the clearing, he discovered he was one of the last to arrive. Heronstar and Mantisclaw were already here. The scarred tom inwardly sighed and strode into the clearing toward the monster’s corpses. Keep it together.
He leapt onto the decayed metal and turned and sat, looking down on the gathered cats. He kept a flat, emotionless but stern expression on his face. Dogstar immediately turned to Heronstar and bowed his head to her, ”Heronstar. I believe we both know that we have something to discuss?” his voice was calm, and he tried best he could to not invoke any anger or frustration within the other leader.
Websong had, had to fight to make sure she went to the gathering. She wanted to here Heronstar and her code breakers reason for killing her mother and leaving her newly born kits motherless. She had to promise to stay quiet and not start anything. But she would keep quiet as long as she got to see for herself what the traitorous rogues excuse was. As they reached the gathering place and Dogstar ordered them to keep calm and not to start anything she bowed her head in agreement. As they padded towards the others she couldn't help but glare at Ivyclan and let her hackles raise. She kept her distance from them kept close to her clan.
Wildstep was almost completely over his illness and felt strong enough to go to the gathering. At least that is what he told Heronstar because he didn't plan on ever letting her out of his sight again. Upon arrival to the gathering he was glad to see that Mistclan wasn't there yet. Maybe they wouldn't show up? As he settled as close to dead monster as he could and sat there staring up at his mate or casting his eyes around the clearing. It wasn't long before Mistclan scent came wafting on the breeze followed shortly by their leader Dogstar and his patrol appearing. So they were brave enough to show their faces after all. Maybe they didn't know that there was a murderer in their midst? He cast his eyes for his sister Silvermist but he didn't see her with them. With that he remembered she had been pregnant the last time he had seen her she must of had her kits by now. That worried him even more, knowing that his sister and her kits were in danger. Wildstep spotted a couple of her kits from her first litter. He was confused at the looks of hate in their eyes towards his clan. He wanted to go to them to find out what was wrong but he stayed put. He was sure Dogstar would tell them soon enough.
Twigleaf arrived with IvyClan. Buckleap was not far behind, in MistClan.
Mantisstar nodded a quick greeting to Dogstar and flicked an ear when he immediately addressed Heronstar. It didn't really matter. Her gaze wandered to where RootClan were supposed to arrive. They were the ones she was waiting for, to finally put to rest this unresolved conflict between them. Unfortunately, it seemed that it would have to wait for another day, or another night. Time crawled by and she shook her head. "They're not coming."
Mantisstar stood up straight. She didn't want to be the one to go on without RootClan, and she didn't want to step out of place in speaking before the more experienced leaders, but too much time had been wasted already. She cleared her throat. "I'm sure by now, you've all heard of the rogue attack on MothClan's camp during the last Gathering. This was a dirty move and I don't intend to let it go unpunished, but at this time, our main focus is on recovering our two stolen kits. Our rescue patrol was unable to get to them, as it seems the rogues have moved their camp."
She turned to Heronstar and Dogstar, and for the first time, noticed the thick tension between the other leaders. "If any other clan needs to cross our territory to get your own kits, or would like to join forces on this, MothClan is open to discussion." Turning back to the rest of the Gathered cats, she continued, "Prey is running better than we would expect at this time of the season, and I'm told that herbs are growing well enough too, though Palesun has injured his leg and was unable to make it tonight."
Mantisstar lied, she thought, flawlessly. It was true that the prey was coming well enough, which was a mercy. She remembered quickly the she-cat that had been forced to put up with her and her brother's constant scrapes from their play-scuffles as apprentices. "And Cedarleap, the medicine cat that served us well from MothClan's creation, has now joined Silverpelt. She will be missed. That's all I have to say for MothClan." The she-cat dipped her head and stepped back to let one of the other leaders speak, wondering which of them would go first. Overhead, clouds drifted invisibly through the night, toward the moon.
Carried Home is a Warriors roleplay forum. We feature four clans - all four of which have futures that heavily depend on what your characters do - as well as a 50 word count minimum on RP posts, and a functioning currency and shop.
While most of the action does center around our four clans, members are also permitted to make loners, rogues, and kittypets. You can also make both StarClan and Dark Forest characters.
