Mantisstar strolled toward the Gathering with her head high. The group had set out a little early so there was no rush reaching Moon's Maw, and she felt a flash of satisfaction to see that, even at their leisurely pace, they had arrived first. The leader flicked her tail to dismiss MothClan from the tight bunch they'd traveled there as. As far as the she-cat was concerned, there was no reason for MothClan to be anything but at ease this moon.
They were no longer in survival mode. Leaf-bare had passed, the shadows of the missing and disgraced leaders had started to lessen, and MothClan were showing off their claws again. A few pawsteps over the border here. A shifted scent marking there. Whether the other leaders ignored the change or were provoked to comment, it was a win in Mantisstar's mind. Her clan had the strength to back up their moves, and so did she. But tonight wasn't about that. Tonight she had something more important. Tonight, she had a plan.
First, though, she had to wait for the other leaders.
