[ti]Open[/ti]Fading Away - Slowly But Surely

Tanglefur mindlessly stared at his paws. You could see through them. You could also see through his entire body. He didn’t like the thought of it, but he felt like he wouldn’t last much longer here. Ah well, he had his run. But what about Tansysong? And Oakwish? Spottedheart? Well, Oakwish and Tansysong would surely be heartbroken to see that he was slowly fading away. He was even starting to black out sometimes.

He sighed, and plopped down, lying his head on the ground and tucking his paws under his transparent self. He didn’t know what happened when you faded away. Did you no longer exist? Or did you start a new life as a kit? If he did start a new life as a kit, it’d be a blessing from Starclan themselves, he supposed. Hopefully if that happened, he’d renew all his wrong-doings.

Maybe he’d have his same personality, but hopefully nothing would go wrong this time. He’d have a chance at getting into Starclan. Would they welcome him, knowing it was him? Maybe. Caught up in his thoughts, he didn’t notice someone coming his way.

Spottedheart’s path deviated a bit tonight from its normal route; lost in thought, the spotted cat let his paws take him wherever they wished. The tips of his ears and tail were all still foggy and half faded though his entire body was starting to seem… more ethereal, and it seemed likely that they would remain that way for the rest of Spotted’s time here. His gaze raises from the ground to find himself very near Tanglefur’s log. How interesting; Spotted might as well go visit his fellow inmate’s home to see if Tangle was around. Maybe they could chat or share information about Tansysong’s plans.

Spottedheart’s pondering expression became his typical smile as he trots towards Tangle’s log. Tanglefur was indeed there, and Spotted approached cautiously as he was never quite sure what Tangle thought of him. The caution ceased once he got very close though; whether he had never noticed it before or it was a recent development, Tangle looked… well see through. His smile became sympathetic; for the first time in a very, very long time, Spottedheart found it possible to relate to another cat’s problems. “You too, huh? I suppose we are getting quite old, hm?” Spottedheart’s voice was soft, not wanting to spook the other cat. He sits nearby, picking a spot near the log while curling his foggy tail around his paws.

Tanglefur's messy and tangled fur spiked and his ears pricked when he heard a familiar voice. He looked up to the voice, it was Spottedheart. "You too, huh? I suppose we are getting quite old, hm?" Tanglefur flicked one of his ears, confused for a moment before he noticed that Spottedheart had faded a bit, too. "Oh. Yeah, I suppose." He sat up, observing the other tom's features. His ears and tail tip looked transparent, like Tanglefur. "You and I have been here for a long time."

“We are the elders of the Dark Forest, I suppose. Never thought I’d get old enough to be considered an elder.” Spottedheart jokes as he tries to lighten the mood a bit. After all, no need to become depressed over something that they can’t change. Though… it would be nice if Sweetoak was the one fading instead of them. Oh well.

His tail flicks back and forth. “Seems like there are a lot more cats here now than when I came here, way back when. That’s not including the multitude of living kits, of course.” He reminisced about when he first arrived in this place. He had been freaked out at first, with only memories of death and fear to guide him here and no cat willing to give him any hint of anything. Luckily, he had learned quickly and been able to figure things out on his own.
