hailkit is a blue (often called grey) tabby with large white splashes on her chest, stomach and paws, giving her pelt a striking contrast between the soft grey tabby markings on top and the blinding whiteness on her bottom half. hailkit is a buff feline, not as big as her sister, but is clearly capable of holding her own. however, her long fur often covers up the fact that she is so big naturally, giving the impression that she's more fluff that muscle but she's will be able to use this to her advantage once she's older. she's evidently a fighter, fitting in perfectly alongside her mother and sister, but she fights with more instinct and passion than strategy, which will lead her to some awkward situations later in life. she will be decent at hunting but finds it boring in comparison to fighting. due to her long fur, the stripes of her tabby pelt can appear messy and all over the place, especially because hailkit doesn't care much for her appearance. taking care of her pelt if very low down on her list of priorities and it's not uncommon for her to not even notice she's covered in burrs and dirt, but it really doesn't bother her. hailkit could have been invited to a meeting with all three clan leaders and she would still strut in with bits of leaves caught in her fur.
she has slightly rounded eyes, that are murky and her least attractive feature, in comparison to the rest of her. they are a dark yellow colour, close to being amber but not quite. as mentioned before, hailkit doesn't spare any thought for her appearance so she isn't attentive to how to her body grows as she does. during her apprentice years to come, she will become clumsy as her body grows into her large shape, meaning her balance will be off. as a kitten, hailkit is a bumbling ball of fluff so any most of her features haven't had a time to grow in yet.

not much as changed as she became a warrior: her baby fluff has gone and her body has become more muscled and toned as a result of training. she's large and is now missing half an ear. her shoulder was dislocated and causes her a minor ache in cold weather or after strenuous exercise.

like her sister, she is not short of personality. hailkit is a proud feline, sometimes sounding ignorant but she is also very stubborn and refuses to back down from an argument, even if she realises that she's wrong. this means she's unlikely to settle differences with others by herself, needing intervention from a third party to settle any differences. family is important to her, but in a strange way, she will acknowledge her half-siblings but secretly feel like she and stormkit are better than them or have the potential to become better than them with time. her sister means a lot to her and will back her up on anything, even if it's a reckless pursuit, she won't do the same for her other siblings, however. she can also be rather impulsive and acts on her emotions rather than sitting and thinking things through.
other than that, she is direct and blunt and doesn't like sarcastic types, possibly because she doesn't always understand their jokes, so will jump to being defensive. hailkit also has an adventurous streak and enjoys simply spending time outside the camp, feeling the wind in her fur. however, her bull-headed personality can cause her to charge after trouble if she thinks it could be interesting. it will give her some experience, though. another part of her personality is her sensitive side, hailkit can be quite sensitive to other's emotions, even if she hides it from everyone but her sister, and is actually quite emphatic. this, combined with her impulsive traits, means hailkit jumps into situations that cause a lot more trouble than they are worth. it takes a while for her to learn her lesson.

during late apprenticehood, she and a group of young warriors/apprentices (including her sister) set of to avenge their mother's death after she was killed by rouges. the raid was semi-successful as it resulted in two ivyclan kits being rescued but left the group injured and separated. due to the raid, she was made an apprentice early, along with the other apprentices that accompanied her.
