Cherryheart looked at Bearstar her ear gave a flick of slight annoyance of course she didn't have another kit. She parted her jaws to speak but it was then that Bearstar turned her attention to Smokeshade. She settled down focusing on the kit that was just brought to her from the cold. She listened intently to the story, how Smokeshade had found him alone, no scent of a mother, the poor thing had a traumatic start to life. She honestly couldn't blame the tom for bringing him back. She sighed for just a moment the poor thing was barely old enough to talk there was no way the flame colored tom would have been influenced by rogues. The hungry kit after eating, curled up next to Cherryhearts other kits eyes closed, clearly comforted by their scent. Her eyes softened ever so slightly. She would never deny her love to a kit.
"Bearstar...you know the code just as well as I...no warrior can turn down a kit in danger..." She mewed. She didn't particularly want to defend Smokeshade, but it was the truth. That was part of the warrior code. Granted the code referred to only clan cats, she didn't think a lone kit should be any different. The she-cat looked at Bearstar with confidence. However, she was still slightly upset Smokeshade put her in this position that she was actually defending him. What would Ringtail think? Surely since Smokeshade found the kit, he would be attached to the tom, and having to explain that the kit had different parents...adoptive parents that would be complicated.
"He's barely a moon old...I doubt the rogues had anything to do with him. That and he was found in the two-leg area, I don't think the rogues wander there often. We would have scented them." By we she meant the other warriors, after all Cherryheart would be in the nursery for some time still. She sighed looking at the two cats who brought the kit back. "You will take full responsibility in making sure when he's eating prey there's plenty for the clan and him!" She mewed softly. She went back to her nest and curled herself around her bundles. "Does he have a name?" She mewed giving all of her kits a quick lick.
ooc: In this thread he's just barely a moon old so I don't think his talking skills would be overly great right now.
