[ti]Open[/ti]Story time with Twist

"So eat things that are sharp!" Goldenkit chirped, his tail twirling as he got to his paws. "I could try to get some from Larkbeat while she's sleeping... Or maybe venture out.." he whispered to himself while kneading his huge paws excitedly in the dirt.

"I guess sticks don't apply though, they're sharp but taste boring." He said, glanicmg back up from his mumbling. "I climbed a tree before, maybe the higher ones taste better!"

“That name is a mouthful,” he giggled, then paused with wide eyes once he caught his own unintentional pun. A goofy lopsided grin stretched across his muzzle, waiting for someone else to realize his pun and react to it. In that moment, Honeykit felt like some sort of comedic diety.

He then nodded in agreement to Goldenkit. The sharp things were there to defend the tasty stuff, because without protection, everyone would be eating it! He wondered if this applied to porcupines. Honeykit has never seen one before, but he’d heard of the spikey beasts from the more experienced warriors.
“I think if we’re careful, we can avoid the thorns. It’ll be easy to pluck ‘em out, especially since plants don’t move around or anything.” Now, if the plant was squirming around, their job would be much harder.

StarClan save me! Twistedbranch thought, hearing the...interesting ideals of the tom-kits. He drew a paw over his face, as if he could wipe away the confusion of these kits. 
"That...wasn't quite what I had in mind..."
Twistedbranch spoke under his breath, sure that the kits would not notice. But then, with a chuckle, he spoke up again, addressing the...creative thinkers. 
"I suppose that if getting a muzzle full of prickles is your idea of a good time, be my guest. That just means more tasty shrews and birds for me!"

"If it's moving, we can just tackle it and hold it down until it surrenders!" Goldenkit laughed, his ears perking up excitedly. "Birds? Birds are high up, and some are bright like flowers! Maybe we could catch a bird!"

The tom looked extremely pumped for the idea, and he got to his paws before twirling around in circles. "Twistedbranch, where's the best bird spot? We've gotta catch a bird! And maybe the warriors' will be impressed too, right Honeykit?"

Honeykit brushed a paw over his nose, as if it was converted in prickles. He had never felt that sort of sensation before, but his imagination allowed himself to closely guess to what it would feel like That sounded painful enough to make him doubt his original plan. Maybe it was best to stay away from thorns and porcupines until he was a strong warrior...

“Don’t we have to wait until we’re apprentices to hunt?” He replied to Goldenkit with a mild level of hesitance. “Or can we just become apprentices if we know how to hunt already?” The last thing Honeykit wanted to do was to break the warrior’s code. He wasn’t a stickler for most rules, but he knew how badly cats would get punished if they didn’t obey the code. Honeykit would rather wait the six moons out instead of getting an extension because he was doing things he wasn’t supposed to be doing.

"Well, you are certainly right about one thing. Meaty birds are much more tasty than leaves, Goldenkit. Unfortunately, Nectarkit is also quite right. You guys should wait until you are apprentices to go chasing after them," he said, knowing that he should not encourage the kits to run off. 
Still, he leaned in close, and imparted a bit more 'wisdom'.
"Just between us though, the best hunting is in syneffo forest, where you can find both birds and squirrels! There are some really nice oak trees where the tastiest ravens ever will practically flap into your claws! Make sure your mentor shows you that."
He winked incredibly obviously at the pair of tom-kits.
