Benny grins at his family. He never thought he’d be able to have a family again, yet here he was. Here he was looking at his beautiful if firy mate Swift. The house was alive with the sound of Swift’s first litter, his adopted children. Behind him sat both Thunder and Lightning, his two little adopted grandkits; Storm’s loss had been a major hit to the tom, but he continues to love the two orphaned kits unconditionally. And now Swift was surrounded by her second litter- his kits. Tears welled up in his eyes but his grin is full of joy at the ever expanding family. His family. He still can’t believe that he has such a thing.
Benny’s tail curls around the little two moon old tom Thunder, who softly purrs. Thunder is wholly uninterested in the younger kits, preferring to sleep curled up next to his grandfather. The only reason he’s nearby at all is because his sister is here. Indeed, Lightning is sneaking around Benny’s side. She creeps right up to one of her new aunts and uncles, gently poking one with a paw. Lightning’s wide eyes stay on the smaller bundles of fur as she continually pokes the nearest one until it gives her a response.
