Appearance:
Mantisclaw has short brown fur with noticeable black mackerel tabby stripes. There are various small scars dotting her pelt, and larger burn scars mark her legs, most notably on her right foreleg and left hind leg. Her underside is slightly lighter than the rest of her fur, with her stripes turning to spots. The stripes are also broken into spots near her hind legs. Her eyes, which have a wide rounded almond shape, are yellow. She has a slim build, long neck, and long legs. If cats looked closer they might notice her long legs leading to long toes which lead to claws that can stretch well. Her muscles and strength are subtle so it's mostly the way she holds herself that would suggest she's a fighter. The widest point on her is her chest. Her ears are just a tad longer than average and end in rounded, darker tips. Her tail is an average length and thickness with a rounded end. She has a dark pink nose and long whiskers.
Personality:
Mantisclaw is first and foremost a dedicated warrior of MothClan. She loves her clan, and when they need her, she's ready to fight for them, literally or figuratively. She's generally friendly toward cats from other clans, unless they meet under tense circumstances, but she thinks that her clan is the best one. Naturally, Mantisclaw is a reckless and impulsive she-cat, happy to rush into things and take unneccessary risks for fun. Due to her friendly and social side, she often uses her confidence to convince others to get in on her plans. Fortunately for MothClan, her apprenticeship taught her some much-needed lessons in patience. She dislikes moving slowly and having to think things through several times, but understands how important it can be not to put anyone in danger for the sake of it. Overall, Mantisclaw prefers to stir up her own challenges and games than to get into silly fights across the borders..
History:
Mantiskit was born to Ruststripe and Eveningblaze of MothClan along with brothers Weevilkit, Flykit, Hornkit, and Scorpionkit alongside sister Tickkit. She was at first jokingly named Buckkit by Ruststripe, but it was quickly changed to Mantiskit because "girl mantises are pretty badass". Her mother adopted Agavekit and Cactuskit while she was still very young, and she welcomed them fully as siblings. Her father adopted Bellfeather's Carrotkit and Susankit while she was still young as well, so she accepted them as siblings, though a bit more distantly. At six moons old, she was named Mantispaw and apprenticed to Pinetuft, which she was happy about. She was almost seven moons old when her mother and some other clanmates were trapped and taken by Twolegs. She had an eventful seventh moon with her first visit to the Gathering before her father Eveningblaze left to find the cats the Twolegs had taken. He brought them back just as she turned eight moons, which is also when she did her first "official" challenge. At ten moons old, she followed her brother Weevilpaw and Cypresspaw out to the IvyClan border. Weevilpaw trespassed to catch a squirrel and Mantispaw had just started to follow him when an IvyClan cat called Cowpaw stopped them. With her was another apprentice called Deerpaw. Things moved quickly from there and before she had a chance to really fight, MothClan warrior Birchfrost had killed MistClan Rushfeather, and the skirmish was over. Since then, the most notable events in her life are: Her father became leader, the fire drove MothClan to shelter in MistClan, she got pregnant, she fought briefly in a border skirmish with RootClan before her father lost a life, he became possessed and made her an elite warrior, he stopped being possessed and stepped down, and she gave birth to her kits.
