Shadder gave the ginger and white she-cat a sideways glance as Honeyheart walked beside him, offering small words of encouragement to the smaller tabby. His mossy green eyes flashed brightly as he stared wide-eyed at the queen who ran their group and his ears flattened a touch. He lowered his head a small bow in response and offered a crooked, wiggle smile. "Th-thank you, Honeyheart." He tried to speak with a level tone, but it came out a little squeakish.
It wasn't that he didn't appreciate her praise- he did, in all honesty, because the queen was well-respected. But she truly made him nervous, in all her glory. To hear her praise him, this lowly little stray, it felt almost too good to be true. Still, he swallowed down his worries and nodded in agreement with her request before raising his head a little, continuing his walk with a bit more vigor. For a moment, he felt safe. Perhaps she had made the right decision after all.
Owlstar needn't have spoken, not when the warriors of the clans had united as one to fend off the intruders to their gathering. Despite her calm stature, yellow eyes blazed with an unbridled fury that rivaled, or overcame, the glare she had given to Brackenfall earlier. Her gaze flickered down to the deputies of the clans, eyes gleaming as burning stars in the cool night.
"Take warriors," She spoke to them, her voice just barely level. It was quite clear what her emotions were, from that barely contained snarl. "Make sure they get out of clan territory. If they linger, rip all but their kits into shreds." Her growl leaked into her tone, and she glanced briefly at both Bearstar and Brackenfall, who was still atop the monster carcasses, to ascertain their agreement with her command. Not that she cared much, she didn't care who drove them out as long as they were clan cats. For once, all her animosity was directed at someone else. "You have permission to cross through Ivyclan territory, if you must." As long as Roseblaze was going with them, she didn't care. Out, she wanted them out! Invading on their sacred night, with the moon high in the sky and clouded over by Starclan to show their distaste. Absolutely disrespectful. If she didn't have a clan here, she'd chase them down and claw them to pieces herself.
After she had spoken, she turned her gaze to Bearstar, the growl still lingering in her tone, even though it was clear it wasn't the leader she was angry with. "We must meet with Mothstar." Not tonight, she planned to guard her clan vehemently this night. But it was clear the rogues were getting too big for their pawsteps, if they dare intrude and hide their cowardly faces behind kits. A meeting was needed, to discuss how they would get rid of these pests.
Brackenfall had barely been listening to the exchange between the rogues. In fact, he was preoccupied already preparing warriors for tasks of his own. He was searching for a specific cat, and it didn't take long for the deputy to spot the small lithe tom. "Littledash." He padded towards the warrior. "Go back to camp, make sure it's safe and let Mothstar know what's happening." The tabby tom knew his Clanmate was one of the fastest in the forest, it wouldn't take long for his message to be relayed and, if the rogues had actually sent others to attack their camps, he may get there ahead of time to warn the other. After watching the cat speed off, he looked toward Eveningblaze, Liongaze, and motioned with his tail for Otterpaw to join them. "You all, follow them. Don't be afraid to get your paws dirty if it comes to it." He ordered, jumping back atop the monsters. The tom looked at the other two leaders, concern in his gaze. "I would send a cat to warn those in your camp. They could be bluffing, but it's better safe than sorry." He knew it wasn't his place to tell the she-cats what to do, but he felt it would ensure the safety of all the Clans.
Large muscles rippled beneath a shimmering silver and white pelt as Saltweed moved swiftly to her paws, long white claws sliding out their sheathes and into the sod. Her orange eyes were daggers as she glared through thin slits at the distance where the intruders had fled and her thick tail lash angrily. She padded with purpose through the masses of clan cats towards the edge of the clearing, only pausing at the edge briefly to look at Bearstar. As soon as the she-cat gave the word, the warrior would be on the rogues' tails. She would taste the bloody flavor of victory this night and Starclan and the forest clans alike would look upon her with pride. Yes, this night will be one to remember.
Bearstar nodded as Owlstar addressed her clan, turning to speak to her own. "Anyone who feels able and swift, go after them. The rest of you, hurry back to camp with me. I suspect their threat is hollow, but we cannot take chances- not with as many kits as we have this moon," she called out to her clanmates before pausing at Owlstar's side as she leapt down. "May your warriors' claws find blood tonight. Boldness is only commendable when it does not turn to stupidity. The rogues have been too bold." With that, she glanced behind her only to flick her tail in farewell to Brackenfall before joining her clan's ranks. "Let's go," she spoke quickly, not waiting to make sure her warriors followed her closely. Any stranger in her camp would have to deal with her personally, and her claws dug into the dirt as she ran, leaving deep cuts in the ground where she ran. Threaten my family will they... perhaps I'll have to organize a hunt of my own, she mused darkly as she burst out of the clearing and back into the shadow of the forest.
--Mumblepaw ( IvyClan) : "Wait up! I'm coming with,"the apprentice turned to whoever was assembling to chase the rogues, tossing a concerned(although slightly excited) glance at Mudjaw. "I have to protect my clan. I know I'm not a warrior yet but I'm very capable," she dipped her head, stepping in alongside them. If they had issue with it, they could take it up with Owlstar and Roseblaze. Her heart quivered with nerves and anticipation- this might be her first taste of true battle, of cat blood between her jaws. It was an exciting opportunity but a frightening one.
--Otterpaw ( MothClan ) : The young she-cat perked up, nodding deeply in thanks and acceptance. Finally! Some real action! No more foxes and apprentices- but a real live rogue! A light purr rumbled in her throat as she fell in behind Eveningblaze and Liongaze. Maybe I'll earn my warrior name tonight, she thought to herself in a praising tone. That would show that Mudpawjaw guy!
The white she-cat known as Swanfur had decided to go to another gathering, clearly waning away from home. She was indeed looking/seeking for a tom in a different clan to maybe have some fling with, of course, ignoring her daddy's wishes. The she cat was quiet the entire time, listening to Owlstar. When the rogues came, it was a mere surprise, again staying quiet as always..
The ring-tailed tom had also joined in the peaceful truce under Starclan's gaze. He really loved going to gatherings, even if it premitted him not to go always. He too had listened to Owlstar and the others mingle, before the evening was disturbed by the stench of icky rogue scent. He nearly coughed up a hairball due to it, bringing his nose right paw to his nose. "Damn, they sure do reek of fox dung!!!!!!!!" The Mistclan warrior puffed out his chest, lashing his tail as he glared at the stinking rogues.
Yet another cat was suprised by the small group of rogues. Honeydrop unsheathed her claws, ready to go on the attack. She looked to Brackenfall, her mind on what was to happen. She looked at all the confused and irritable clan cats. Some were leaving to send news to the clans about this issue with the rogues. She only prayed to Starclan something would be fixed or be down about this issue.
Target acquired...The elder tom had kept away from the other exposed rogues, because they were idiots...Mouse-dung to even show themselves. But the older tom was battle-hardy. He knew how to figure things out, how to plan a head of time. Unlike those other cats. His amber eyes locked onto Mumblepaw, for some reason, he could not locate the apprentice he had fought before. Thanks to his old eyes. The brown striped tom was crouched in some lower brush, that held his color well against the back drop. He flicked his tail, watching the group move. 'Wait up, I'm coming..' The young apprentice would have to do. The tom could probably only take on an apprentice by himself. Like before, the aging of his body only put a strain on him, the aches, the pains, and the darn right grey spots along his body showed. Bu this time, he knew...For some old reason, Starclan told him this would be his last. His last struggle. An end. With every ounce of strength he had left in him, he took the plunge. He leaped towards Mumblepaw, almost flying for a second from his spot, and with a yowl, crashed right into the black and white she-cat, sinking his claws into her back. He hissed as pain from his broken tooth shook through his maw, making him become slightly disoriented and lose his focus.

Lilycloud was torn. Although she wished to run back to camp and warn the others, she was also fearful. If Smokeshade chased after the rogues, he may need her help! Those rogues could be more than happy to rip her sweet beloved to shreds. Still, she had to consider that back in camp was her sister Scorpionfang, and little Flamekit. Or even worse, what if Nectarkit had not recovered yet? She would be defenseless against the rogues! Countless possible scenarios raced through her head, and she looked to her mate, desperation glittering in her sapphire eyes. foggy
Stoatwhisker knew immediately where her place was. The very moment that she heard BearStar's approval, she was racing in the direction of the rogues, ready to do whatever she had to to protect her clan. It mattered not to her that these rogues could very well have been her very own family, who had left her so long ago. Even if they were, MistClan was her real family now, and she would protect it.
"My horse is the greatest horse CUZ ITS NOT REALLY A HORSE AT ALL! Its more like a tortilla, On top of another tortilla Filled with gooey cheese fresh salsa too They forgot my sour cream....."
“We will win this battle because we are fighting for our lives and the lives of our Clanmates.

Make sure they get out of clan territory. If they linger, rip all but their kits into shreds."Mudjaw looked to his leader, then back at the path the rogues took. That was all he needed from Owlstar. He looked back at Otterpaw and gave a snort before walking forward muscles rippling under his fur. He shouldered his way through the crowd before taking off on a run. He didn't really care who was behind him, but Owlstar gave permission to chase after the rogues and that's all he needed. He was about to get the revenge that he had been waiting for and this time he was prepared. He recalled all of their fighting techniques, Eagle had been slow but was strong, Weasel sneaky and fast, Honeyheart was all over and Aster didn't fight at all. As long as he kept that in mind it would be an easy win for a small group.
He followed behind Mumblepaw, and a few MothClan cats who were also chosen to go, to his distaste Otterpaw was one of them but so be it, he would show her how it was done. Tail lashing back and forth, he pressed onward, however it was a loud yowl that caught his attention as he saw the older tom he knew all too well lunge straight for Mumblepaw digging his fangs into her body. He snarled viciously lunging forward "GET OFF OF HER!!!!" His eyes glazed over, there was something different about him, Adrenaline flowing through his veins. His ears were ringing loudly, he was blinded by rage. Not only did he owe this tom some revenge, but he went after Mumblepaw, he wouldn't let that happen.
His lip was curled into a snarl that ripped through the air, he stood in front of Mumblepaw protectively while circling around the rogue warrior. "You think you can get away with that??? Do...you? DOOOO YOU!!!!?" Mudjaw wouldn't be so easy to take down this time. His muscles tensed, and after a few moments of silence he lunged forward aiming for Weasels throat.
Eveningblaze followed suit nodding to Brackenfalls request. He didn't know how far away the rogues were, or how many there were. So a small patrol was better than none at all. He wasn't fond of IvyClan, but these rogues were a much bigger problem tormenting the cats in the forest. He saw a rogue leap forward towards Mumblepaw and IvyClan apprentice, as he was about to leap it was Mudjaw who cut him off. He flicked an ear claws unsheathed. He swiped his tail in front of Otterpaw. "Let him....he needs it." He mewed nodding towards the young IvyClan warrior. "If it turns we intervene or if more show up...." The black warrior crouched, ready to go into action if it was required of him, however he could tell this was revenge waiting to happen by the aggressive behavior from the warrior....he had been down this path before.
A flash of spotted silver was all that could be seen as Saltweed dashed past her clanmate after the rogues, disappearing into the shadows cat by the trees. Her eyes were sharp daggers and her body felt electrified as she bolted ahead at a blistering pace. The way her paws deftly navigated the forest floor was masterful despite their bulk and she pounced, clawed, and weaved her way through the unfamiliar territory whose exotic smells put her instincts into overdrive.
It had only felt like a moment or two of running before the familiar stink of the rogues clouded her senses and her eyes narrowed threateningly. Pink lips pulled back in a deep, ivory-clad snarl as she hunkered down low in the grass to scan the area for the intruders. A flash of movement! She waited until the subject made one more motion before she kicked hard with her hind legs and sprang out of hiding onto the individual.
There was a scream.
|| Shadder ||
It took everything in Shadder's power not to screech out like a banshee from the fright he had received as a large body knocked into him, taking his by surprise. Still, a strangled screaming sound escaped him.
He hadn't taken much notice of how he had started lagging behind, lost in his thoughts, until he found himself pinned to the ground with hot breath buffeting his face. A loud snarling sound filled his ears like the buzzing of a bee and Shadder squirmed against the great force that held him down. Mossy eyes flashed and his blood ran icy cold as he locked onto a deadly serious pair of eyes colored like fire. They seemed to be burning too.
He struggled against Saltweed as she tried to bite at his throat, doing his best to shake his head out of her way and kicking at her surprisingly hard tummy with his hind paws. Luckily, in his frantic kicks, he managed to graze the inner part of one of her legs, right close to the edge of her belly and this seemed to catch the she-cat off guard.
Saltweed sprang back in pain, giving the dark tabby enough time to scurry out of reach and bear his teeth threateningly at the warrior. "Stay back!" he hissed. His heart was hammering in his chest and all he could now ear was the rushing of blood in his ears. All his senses told him to be angry. To fight. But his brain, which understood the severity of the situation, thought otherwise as he glued his horrified eyes to the slinking dark form of the orange-eyed cat as she rose up slowly from her hunched position, stretching up taller and appearing far bigger and more ominous in the dark shadows of the night.
The closest cat to Honeyheart was Shadder, and she whirled around to face Saltweed and shove herself between the two. Viper kept moving, presumably toward the point she had told him to meet her at should things go truly sour. The older cat's claws lashed out, striking the empty air in Saltweed's general direction. "Don't you dare touch him!" She snarled, claws unnaturally long and sharp, jagged teeth forced into her claw sheaths and over the natural ones.
"Get closer and there will be a new star in the sky tonight, clanner!" She spat out, back arching as the scarred she cat stared down the larger one.
