As much as she may have wanted to wander out into the wider world, it was much too cold to do so in the middle of Leaf-Bare. Mothclan wasn't the most sheltered of camps, but still; at least their was something that cut off the cool air from chilling you to the quick. Despite this, Badgerkit was trying to do her best to fluff up her fur to ridiculous levels as she was determined to explore at least a little bit.
She was still quite young, so it took her a while to clamber to the top of where she wanted to go. To her smaller body, it felt like a mountain; but actually it was some sort of large stone that had been added to camp a long time before she was born. She scrabbled and stretched, kicking her paws into the mud and giving herself a good scrape along her belly until finally, she managed to hook her kitten claws into something softer, allowing for purchase that allowed her scramble upwards.
Finally! She straightened up, fur sticking out in several different directions, as she finally found her perch - surveying all that she could see with eyes so wide they seemed eager to swallow the scenery around her.
This was the perfect perch.
“We will win this battle because we are fighting for our lives and the lives of our Clanmates.
Mothkit watched with green eyes his sister climbed the big pointed rock. His tail lashed back and forth, finally after much deliberating the tom kit got to his paws and marched forward with one objective in his mind. He was to be KING of THAT rock. Sure there were plenty of other rocks to perch on, some higher some lower, but he wanted the one that his sister Badgerkit was on. With a huff he marched forward and looked up at his sister. The gray and white tom wiggled his tail before jumping up, hooking his kit claws into a patch of moss just below and pulling himself up. ”Sure can see a lot from up here huh.” In reality the kits weren’t all that high, perhaps as tall as one of the warriors, but to them they were on a mountain!
”Shame but this is my rock now.” Mothkit never heard Badgerkit say anything about it being her rock, so figured he would beat her to the punch. Once the tom kit got whiff he was named after his grand father Mothstar, he pranced around camp like it was no one’s business, bossing other kits around, taking lead in the kit games. He was a natural what could he say. With a flick of his tail he lifted a paw. ”Be gone peasant only leaders can perch here. I have ceremonies to run…Badgerbutt” He mewed with a playful twitch of his whiskers. This was HIS clan now
Badgerkit was so proud of her new perch that she knew she had struck gold; it was the bestest perch in the whole clan. So it shouldn't have surprised her that she would soon have to defend it from interlopers. Nor should she be surprised that the first threat came from one of her very own siblings.
"That's NOT my name!" She hissed as viciously as she could muster, which really didn't do much yet to strike fear into the hearts of others even if she wanted it to. "And this is MINE! You're the inter...the intra...the person who's not supposed ta be here, bugface!"
She raised her big, flat paw in front of her; showing no claws because she felt she didn't need to intimidate her brother any more, and stuck her nose in the air for her most noble appearance. "Shove off! There's not enough room for both a us here!"

With a raised brow the tom stared at his sisters paw amused by her pompous attitude. Did she really think that her pouting and saying he wasn't supposed to be here would really bother him all that much? He looked left, then right again, shifting himself on his back paws. "Yes you are quite right there isn't enough room for the both of us.." He turned his head to look behind him noticing he was balanced on quite a small section of stone. He fluffed up his silver and white fur to make himself look bigger than her. "I am not Bugface I am Mothstar it's who I was named after and who I am." He gave his ear a swivel as there were a few extra onlookers from the nursery. Good, let the other kits watch it would show them all who was the REAL king of the nursery. With a low rumble growl he slowly started to shift forward giving himself more room. "Why don't we fight for it, if you think you are just oh so tough." He mewed with a narrowed look in his eyes. He would show her just how strong he was...Stronger than Mothstar even!
There were better things than fighting, Badgerkit knew - a smart cat could talk their way out of anything. But as her brother challenged her she assessed the situation and knew what she had to do. She was just as strong, if not stronger than he was; and surely her superior intellect would allow her to trounce him soundly and get her special spot back from him. She allowed herself to think it over then, for just a moment, before she reared back.
"You're on!" She yowled with kittish vigor - and then, figuring that she could at least work to get the drop down on her brother and finish this match-up before it had even begun, took a swipe at him with her front paws; claws soundly sheathed as she hoped that the force of a surprise blow would be enough to set the match up in her favor.
Carried Home is a Warriors roleplay forum. We feature four clans - all four of which have futures that heavily depend on what your characters do - as well as a 50 word count minimum on RP posts, and a functioning currency and shop.
While most of the action does center around our four clans, members are also permitted to make loners, rogues, and kittypets. You can also make both StarClan and Dark Forest characters.
