Glancing back at his apprentice, Dogear asked her, "You know a hunting crouch, right?"
He sat down under a few trees, sunlight speckling the leaf covered forest floor.
"If not, I can show you real quick. Your balance might not be that well."

[QueenChaos]

Ravenpaw padded up to him when he stopped and nodded.
"Yes Dogear. I think so."
She said.
She drops into a near perfect hunting crouch, her body swaying a bit.
-StarCan, my balance isn't very good...-
"How's this Dogear?"

Dogear made a circle around Ravenpaw, examining her crouch.
"Your balance is off."
"Keep your tail low, and stand still. You don't want your prey spotting you before you see them."
He twitched one his abnormally large ears annoyingly.
He didn't want to get mad at his own apprentice, but she should make an effort to be the best she can.

Ravenpaw nodded, moving her tail down. Her eyes caught Dogear's annoyance, and she adjusted her stance so it was now perfect.
-I knew I had done it wrong. Now he's annoyed with me...-
"How about now Dogear?" She asked in a monotone voice.

"Better. Now - can you hear anything? Rustling?"
Dogear's ears swiveled back and forth, listening.
Because of his big ears, he could hear fairly better than other cats.
Before long he heard rustling, and his ears stopped swiveling, he kept his eyes on Ravenpaw and looked at her with a questioning expression.

Ravenpaw twirled her ears around, picking up every noise. She heard Dogear's breathing, the whisper of the leaves and grasses, and, just barely, she heard the pitter patter of a mouse's paws. Her ears pricked higher and she nodded at Dogear, waiting for his command.
-I better not miss. That will dissapoint Dogear...-
