Starlingpaw had gone hunting because she had needed to get away from her mentor for just a while before the two she-cats killed each other; hunting was a valid excuse to be out of camp and unavailable. Once near the border, however, the smoky she-cat had found herself not all that interested in hunting. She’d rather just walk and be lost in thought, and where better to walk than along the border. The smell would let her know if she crossed it long before her eyes would, so she marches along only about a tail length away from the scent line. Of course, the scent was still overwhelming but that helps keep her from getting too lost in thought.
