A gasp escaped the small kit's mouth as she jerked up, frantically looking around, trying to process where she was. Her breathing wasn't frantic, but not calm, either. Her calico and white pelt stood out here, that wasn't a good thing. She looked up at the sky, she could barely see it through the bare trees. The trees stretched endlessly in every direction and only the moon was out. She hadn't finished taking in her surroundings when she heard someone. She mewed and her fur bristled more than it already was, if that was even possible. She backed up a bit, tripping over her own paws. "W-Who're you?"

[Mama]

It was easy to taste the new scent of cat in the air, the scent of a live kitten. How delightful. As she cleaned herself up and took on a pretty face, she headed towards the smell before spotting the feline. "Hello.." She softly mewed, her eyes glittering with false kindness. "Are you lost?"

"Are you lost?" At that, the kit's fur almost stopped bristling. She nodded, then spoke, "I'm Da-Dapplekit. Who're you?" Dapplekit observed the other cat. She had silver fur and dark gray tabby markings. Her eyes looked weird, though. Unlike Dapplekit's amber eyes, her's had more black than usual in them. She shook the thought from her head, and sat down. At least the soil under her paws was cool.

[Mama]

Sweetoak's ears perked up a bit as she took a few steps closer, her fur neat and fluffy while her expression was soft. "I'm Sparkrose, little one." She said with a purr, before bending down her head to it's level. 'Hmm... more Mistclan I see. Good.' The dark forest cat though to herself. Would this be better then the last few cats, ones who ran or vanished? Potentially.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." Sparkrose murmured.

Sparkrose? Huh.. kinda weird name. Dapplekit hesitantly took one step back as the other cat bent down so she was face-to-face with her. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you." She twitched one of her ears, "...Where am I?" She took a look around again, observing the trees and the sky again. There were no stars, no sound except the occasional wind blowing. Certainly not Starclan, that's for sure.

[Mama]

"Oh, it's a place called the Dark Forest. You see, I was heading to Starclan when I got trapped here. Whatever you do though, don't trust anyone else on this side of the forest... they're dangerous. I've heard they killed kits to end up here, or just call it fun to watch somecat die." Sparkrose murmured, her voice lowering as she glanced around. "However, if you wanted to help me out and become the best warrior Mothclan's ever seen... I could train you."

As Dapplekit listened to the other cat as she explained where they were. The Dark Forest? Dapple wasn't sure she liked the sound of this place.. scary cats that could kill her. A shiver ran down her spine and through her tail. She didn't like it here. She wanted to be back in the nursery. Her eyes only sparkled for a moment at the idea of being the greatest warrior Mothclan's ever seen. She.. wasn't sure she wanted to be the best. Dapple wasn't into fighting. She hesitated before speaking, glancing to and from the she-cat's eyes and the ground beneath her paws, "I-I don't want to be.. the uh, best warrior Mothclan's ever seen."

[Mama]

Her eyes sharpened, and she gave a small smile. "But why not? You'll be the best, and never have to worry about mean kits, or not doing well. I can give you everything you ever wanted!" Sparkrose purred, raising her head as she stared down with her cold, dead eyes.

"Or do you not want everything? Do you want, no, need nothing?" The feline said, before giving a devilish grin.

Dapple backed up, her ears flattening themselves against her head as the she-cat started to sound creepier by the second. She didn't know it, but her forelegs were trembling and her fur was starting to stand on end. She searched for words while staring at Sparkrose's eyes, not able to pull her gaze away. "I-I-I don't wanna hurt.. anyone." Dapple crouched down some, taking another step backward.

[Mama]

"Oh, but what if somecat hurt you? You'll be weak," She started, before slamming her down with her paw."-puny," Then the claws came out. "-and useless."

With a mix of a laugh and a hiss, she suddenly snapped her claws around the kit's body, her eyes glinting with murderous intent. "You think that you can go without hurting anyone?" Sweetoak purred with a sickeningly sweet voice, putting pressure on the little kit. "Well, you're wrong!"
