appearance

dusk is a tonkinese cat, which was created as a result from the crossbreeding between the burmese and siamese breeds. her fur is a warm blend of silvery cream, which unfortunately stands out a tad too much to provide her any decent camoflauge in the forests, hence why she became a home-guard. her face bears the markings similar to the siamese but of a much softer variety. in fact, appearance-wise, dusk is an overall warm feline, if it wasn't for the constant tough-look on her face. her fur is soft and very pleasant to the touch but is rather thin, allowing the cold to easily chill her bones. the most striking feature she has, though, is her eyes: almond shaped, large, expressive, and since she is a mink, aqua eyes, as they are genetically called. unlike the siamese striking sapphire optics, dusk has a more muted shade but they are no less beautiful. however, dusk usually has an intense, focused look set in her eyes, which can off-set their 'attractiveness' in certain opinions.
due to her 'profession' as a home-guard, dusk has a rather muscular build and an excellent stamina, even if you wouldn't immediately guess it by looking at her. as a kitten, she always enjoyed playing wrestling with the other kittens, sometimes taking it too far, so it came as no surprise when she decided being a home-guard was the better path for her. it is clear that she is a fighter her body has more than a few scars but none were serious enough to make her reconsider her position. if anything, she enjoys having reminders on her body as she considers them as lessons on how to get better. dusk always takes physical well-being seriously and all apprentices of hers will be worked hard.

although dusk is a great advocate of cooperation with her fellow guards, she has a defined stern personality and rarely smiles or any other kind of bright 'happy' expression. dusk can be noted to be solemn and serious, not wasting time on unnecessary activities. if it wasn't for her slightly premature age, dusk could be considered the veteran general type of character, with the realistic outlook and clear moral margins that define all her opinions. she isn't one to make exceptions for bad actions done for the right reasons, if you do a bad things you deserve your punishment. however, she's also a believer that everyone should get a chance of redemption or at least not have to live their lives being constantly reminded of their past self.
her sense of humour is very dry, tending to be more deadpan and slightly mocking. although, if you get the lash of her tongue you can bet you've done something to deserve it. on the flip side, dusk has been known to use her sense of humour to relieve the stress of tense situations, at least to a degree. however, she also uses it as a defence to cover up any insecurities and deflect the situation back onto others, as well as a last-ditch attempt to maintain her composure. in the event that she does lose her composure, dusk will respond with a fight-or-flight response and won't calm down until she is ready. this rarely happens, though, so when it does, it's because of some majorly traumatic event or ongoing pressure.
dusk has a great ability for problem-solving and is quick-witted, making her a good tactician, when combined with her unshakable composure. however, one of her most prominent weaknesses is her complete inability to tell lies, from very small ones, like surprise parties, to more serious secrets. due to this, though, she is apt at spotting when others are being dishonest, mainly in to-bes and younger, and this ability has shown to be inaccurate on certain occasions, so isn't reliable enough for her to consider it a strength of hers.

dusk's history is relatively straight-forwards and predictable. she was born to her parents, both prey-hunters in a litter of three. one sibling was still-born so she's close to her sister, as the only other sibling she has. as mentioned before, dusk was always a bit rough when playing so she was chosen to became a home-guard to-be, and enjoyed her time spent under the tuition of her mentor, learning to not only do her job, but enjoy it. it wasn't long before she was promoted to a full home-guard where she has spent the rest of her time, never choosing motherhood over her duty. dusk has never took a mate, though she has had adolescent dalliances, but they never resulted in anything serious, and has no children of her own yet.
