Firekit loves his mother; he knows his constant escapes and troublemaking upset poor Nightfur. She always tells him that the rules are there to keep him and his siblings safe, and Fire thinks that Night truly believe that. He is still a bit skeptical, however. Even so, Firekit liked to do things to make his mother happy every so often. She always tells him how he should respect and occasionally visit the elders of the clan, so he decides to do just that today. He has dragged his nephew Mosskit along with him, because Mosskit is perfectly happy tagging along.

Firekit pokes his head into the rather empty den; his firy red eyes find Daisytail. “Heya, Daisytail! Do you mind if we come visit you?” He asks politely while Mosskit also sticks his head into the den, waving his tail in greeting. Without waiting for an answer, the two kits invade the den and plop down on either side of Daisy. Mosskit has a perfectly doofy yet happy grin on his face while Firekit is has a softer smile on his little kitten face.

Daisytail craned her head around her shoulders, trying to reach a spot on her back where an itch had been disturbing her rest all morning. Bah! This is why you never retire alone, the elder sighed to herself, giving up for now and reclining into her moss bed. At least the weather was warm again; she had retired a little younger than some because her sight and hearing had begun to falter, and now even her bones felt old. Arthritic twists bent her paws when she tried to practice the old hunting motions- her own fault to some extent, she had always tried to climb trees in her youth even though she was terrible at it and never learned proper technique. 

Even so, being an elder suited her just fine, though it could get lonely at times- she had no denmates here, so she generally had to leave to find company. And warriors are always busy, apprentices doubly so... the she-cat rested her chin on her paws. She was about to let her eyes flutter shut for a nap when a bright voice practically sang through the silent den. "Ah, you must be Firekit," she greeted the kits with a warm smile, "and that would make you Mosskit. Please, come on in- it's dreadfully quiet in here, so be as loud as you like."

The two kits nod in turn as their names are correctly guessed, then they share a glance at the news that they can be as loud as they want; it seems like adults are always telling them to quiet down, so now that an adult, an elder at that, is telling them the opposite it is a little jarring. Neither one is going to question Daisy on this though, and as Nightfur and Meteorfall always told them to respect and listen to the elders, it seems like they are honorbound to be louder.

“Thank you, Daisytail!” Mosskit squeals, no longer concerned with his volume. The little grey kit attempts to crawl onto the elder’s back to bask in her fur a little bit, but his legs are still a bit too young and klutzy to actually make it up there on his own. Firekit gives Moss a little boost and the grey kit flops onto Daisy’s back unless she moves to kick him off. He’s not heavy, no worries.

As Firekit isn’t much of a talker unless the situation asks for it, the red-eyed kit is content to sit in companionable silence all snuggled up with Daisy. Mosskit, however, starts talking immediately after ending up atop Daisy’s shoulders. “Daisytail, I have a bit of a problem, and I would like your advice. Momma and Grandmama always say that elders give the best advice so can you help me, please? So I met this girl and she’s real pretty and I think I’m in love, but she’s older than me and I think she’s in love with another tom. What can I do?” Moss has to pause to take a breath. If Daisy looks down at Firekit, who has cuddled his way into her sidefluff, he just has a dear StarClan look in his eyes. It would seem if this is all Mosskit can talk about this morning.
