Five kits? That was a lot, Hailkit only had one other fully sibling and she felt a lot of love for her. It was hard to imagine sharing that love with so many others. She opened her mouth to reply, just before a ginger kitten launched an attack. She didn't notice the unsheathed claws until she felt the tiny needles swipe at her ear. For such a new kitten, Daffodilkit was already large and fluffy, like she had been as a kit, so even though Hailkit was older, they weren't that far apart in height. Luckily, the claws only nicked the delicate skin of her ear, and Hailkit pulled away in surprise before any more damage could be done. If it hadn't been for her younger half-sister's squeaked demand of "play," then Hailkit would've thought her initial thoughts were all coming true way too early. "Whoa, you're a feisty one. A true fighter, eh?" Okay, she could accept that, Daffodilkit would be one to watch when she got older, she wouldn't be as good as Stormkit or herself, though, but perhaps there was slightly more fire to her than her name suggested.
As well as being a fighter, Daffodillkit also appeared to be the ring-leader of her siblings, as once their sister had launched her attack, they all started to stumble towards her. She cast a horrified glance at Stormkit, wondering why they hadn't attacked her. Maybe they could read minds? Another floof appeared, biting her. "Argh!" A yelp of surprise escaped her lips, as she felt the teeth sink into her fur. Like her two younger half-sisters, Hailkit was also a floof so it was unlikely that Heatherkit would reach any actual flesh to bite but the attack still pulled at her fur, a mouthful of fur wasn't exactly appetising. "And you! Okay then, I see how it is." She loved a good tussle, but she was worried about accidently hurting them, seeing as they were smaller and that their mother was, like, right there. Hailkit decided that they could take what they were dishing out, though, and aimed a soft paw towards a still batting Daffodilkit, hoping to knock her slightly off balance, if it had any effect at all.
She then would've let her drop to the floor to push away a biting Heatherkit but was stopped by a light weight suddenly dropping right on her tail. In surprise, the blue tabby whipped her around to see what it was: oh, another kitten. "I'm not sure they like me," Hailkit remarked, letting out a soft laugh right after. It was nice to have a carefree tussle, even if she wasn't about to properly beat them down with her older, heavier advantage. She remembered tussling with her own sister at this age. It was all for fun, they didn't really comprehend the notion of winning or losing properly, then. It was this stage that another competitor entered the arena. Hailkit braced herself for another attack as Bumblekit, true to his name, bumbled over towards them, just to watch him take a swing at his brother. It was a terrible attack, but it was the principle of it that mattered. "Aha! I like him, he's on my side! Which one is he?" There were three male kits in this litter, if the names were an indication, and Fuzzykit was one of the little fiends currently harassing her, so this one was either Houndkit or Bumblekit. "Bumblekit, right? Sweet. He's cool, unlike all you other fiends." the tabby teased, turning her attention back to the two sisters who first decided to tag-team her, not knowing if they understood all of what she was saying but hoping that her voice was carry along the basic message.
