Spider Legs on Speckled Petals Female | 10 moons | INFP Scrawny dark tortoiseshell with long legs and pale heather-hazel eyes Pansexual Smells earthy and faintly of flowers Tribe Prey-Hunter To-Be Scaredy-cat type Appearance A scrawny, thin-furred molly with a narrow build and gaunt frame. Long, doe-like legs adorn her, though they are spindly and clumsy, as if Spider has little control over them. She sports large, bat-like ears and a long tail like a whip. And while Spider eats plenty for her age, she has pokey bones that jut out beneath her coat and knobby joints, making her look as if she is starved. She bears a thin, dark tortoiseshell coat mottled in black, dark brown, and dull ginger. And while the brightest part of her pelt is worn mostly on her face, her namesake comes from her nearly stark black legs that look as thin and shiny as a spider's. Despite this though, Spider has a surprisingly gentle look about her that often comes from her muted, heather-hued hazel eyes like soft flower petals. Along with these, she has a shiny black nose and paw pads to match. Personality [Core Personality Traits] || Empathetic || Very in-tune with her own emotions, Spider is very capable of understanding those in states of despair and emotional unease when she is confronted with it. She is easily upset over even the smallest of things, and has no facade or mask to bear to protect herself from completely breaking down. She feels very strongly for everyone else and even other living things, down to the smallest creature. This can often pose an issue when it comes to conflict between two sides and Spider being stuck in the center of it all, unable to choose to oppose another. However, it makes for a very truthful cat when it comes to feelings and how her desires to help anyone and everyone. || Skittish || Easily made nervous and frightened by most things, Spider is about as jumpy as a chick surrounded by coven of cats. She has not an inkling of confidence, the she-cat coming off as more insecure and meek. While To-Be life has had a positive effect on getting this anxious kitty to think more for herself, she still has a very long way to go before she can be considered a spunky kit in terms of personality. || Demure || Shy and soft-spoken, Spider is a fairly reserved cat who avoids sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. She's not the most talkative cat by choice because of her tendency to ramble and stutter out her words around those she's not hugely comfortable being around. She's not affected by this self-imposed quiet state though as she personally prefers to stick to her daydreaming and inner thoughts. || Oblivious || Rather dense and a fair bit unassuming, it isn't uncommon for Spider to be caught unawares of even the most basic of things like others' feelings if she hasn't been directly confronted with them. This is largely caused by her reserved nature and her sticking to herself that she often finds she is blind to many things going on in her tribe. || Gloomy || Not really pessimistic like the term indicates, Spider is more of a defeatist. When she believes she is incapable of completing something, she'll simply give up before she even starts. She has no trust in her own strengths and feels that she must rely on others as she had to do so throughout her kithood. Unable to please her father and provide for her sister, she has collected much self-doubt which fuels her insecurities. When she is stuck in such an emotional funk, only the honest affection of others can pull her out of her sinkhole as the lonely cat tries to separate herself from others, deeming herself too unworthy of others' attention. [Secondary Traits] Socially-Inept Spider doesn't have much experience in interact with others without coming off as a bumbling mess. Anxious She easily overthinks things and comes to the worst outcome in this, prompting her to panic before doing anything Gullible She wants to see the good in everyone, thus it is easy for her to believe just about anything anyone else says. Poignant She is easy to work up and quick to tears as a big crybaby. Innocent She tends to see the world through the lens of a sheltered kit. Thus, she tries to see the good and ignore the bad in the world Gentle Considerate and tender, she has a very mellow sense of caring for others. History Spider Legs on Speckled Petals had been born in a litter of two to a pair of Prey-Hunters, Skinny Shadows Cast From Trees- a skinny black tom with a hard face and stern grey eyes- and Lilypad Floating on Soft Waters- a lovely creamy tortie queen with watery blue eyes. While Lilypad was adorned by her tribemates, Skinny was avoided due to his edgy and often cruel demeanor. None are really sure why Lilypad was so smitten with the sulky, scrawny tom. When Lilypad took Skinny as her mate, it was her dream to bear his kits, to which the normally bleak cat grew happy; happy of this new life with a cat who seemed to care for him. However, his outlook on life changed as soon as Lilypad kitted. From the pair were born two frail masses- a tiny and weak-looking black tortie and a stronger, dusty cinnamon kitten. These two were named Spider Legs on Speckled Petals and Chestnut That Clatters Loudly Down, Spider for her glossy black fur and frail frame, and Chest for her tough disposition and warm coloration. However, only a short time after naming her kittens did Lilypad perish from losing too much blood, leaving Skinny a single parent to his two new daughters. The kittens grew up under the care of the tribe's Kit-Mothers and Skinny's watchful, but distant eyes. While Spider grew stronger despite her frail build, Chestnut had developed dead hind legs which were useless to her, and from the state of his kittens, Skinny was far too nervous to grow attached to them. He did not wish to bear the same heartbreak he felt when his mate passed when these two weak babies of his failed to survive the colder moons. Still, he loved and worried for them from afar. Spider adored her spunky sister and it gave the dark kitten a bit of confidence in seeing how nothing could get Chestnut down, not even being unable to walk with her weak legs. Chestnut was Spider's hero and best friend, and the two loved to play all sorts of games despite how Spider was constantly being scolded by their father for supposedly being too rough with her sister. However, during a particularly frigid winter day, the kittens had been scampering around to keep warm and ended up too close to some rubble which gave way beneath them, leaving Chestnut to fall further into the chilly forest. By the time that Spider had told someone and the grown cats had scoured the area to find Chestnut, the young she-kit had frozen to death. Spider grew up clammed up in her shell of emotions while her father let her know every day up until his death that it was her fault that Chestnut had died that day. While Spider has done well to mature some during her To-Be training, she still holds this guilt with her and feels she will never live it down. [Extended Family] Mentor RP Example [RP from PokéPark on Pokefarm - Babayaga the Delphox] Honey gold eyes leered in the darkness of the rain which was now much stronger than the former sprinkle of droplets it had evolved from. A faint hiss sounded against the pattering of the shower overhead as the droplets evaporated off the plume of fur that the fox Pokemon donned. Babayaga's upper lip curled as a growl escaped her lungs, flattening her large ears to the best of her ability. With her thick tail lashing uneasily, the slender Delphox shrank back further into the underground, which seemed to grow tighter around her the further she moved. In her current size- even being one of the smaller creatures in the breed- was still much more problematic when it came to hiding. So easy it had been to shy away into a tangle of dense vegetation to avoid the rain as a Fennekin- even a Braixen. But now Baba seemed to be the brunt of nature's frustrations as the falling droplets broke through the barrier that the dark canopy of foresty trees had once held in strength before the thin membranes of the leaves grew heavy and limp with water. Sizzling. Sizzling was not good. It proved too loud of a sound, even for the rain-filled air that gave a soft splatter with every collision between the draining sky and accepting earth. It would only take one Pokemon with the keenest of hearing to pinpoint the sizzle- even higher chances that they would catch sight of the steam- and Baba was doomed. There was hardly a chance she could win a battle on a sunny day, let alone a heavily rainy one. The dangerous threat of being found was too much for the frantic creature to take and the towering Fox Pokemon tore off into a run on all four- appearing quite awkward albeit, but faster than she would've got it travelling upright on her hind legs. She had to get out of this drizzly wood and as she fled, a trail of steam followed more slowly in pursuit as it floated from her hissing pelt. It didn't take long for the Fire-Type to come across a cavern, and though it smelled of foreign scents that made her skin crawl with paranoia, the thought of remaining out in the cold wetness of the outside world when she was already becoming sopping wet was more than enough to send her packing into the cave without a hint of hesitation. Upon entering the stony mouth of the landscape, Baba had not an inkling as to where she was, what else was in inside with her, and how well she would fare before the weather let up. In an attempt to quash any feelings of terror or regret for entering the unusual cavern, the scrawny Delphox elicited a thin streak of flame from her honey-toned muzzle and grinned a bit at the sound of loud fizzling as the jet of fire evaporated what water she trailed in from the stone floor and charred a small portion of the area. And while the spot was still hot with embers, the tall fox creature hurriedly hunkered down and curled into as tight of a ball as she could ever get. The sudden warmth was enticing and drew a purr from deep within her throat, though the feeling was short-lived as the rest of her damp hide smothered out the lasting little lives of heat. But at least she could dry there in peace. ”Hopefully…”
