[ti]Open[/ti]I've heard I don't belong in this scene.

A figure stood perched in a tree, blending into the hues of colors perfectly. From one side, she looked almost completely normal, besides her cropped tail and quite a few scars. If anything, some could call her pretty. Take a closer look at her other side though, and a creature of nightmares may stare back. It was burned and shriveled up, with long claw marks tearing the scarred flesh and her ear completely missing.

Her scent lingered on the area below her, but most of it was masked by the smell of fresh soil, mud, and lilies. She wasn't that stupid to go without a bit of a scent change, so at least if she was noticed it wouldn't be quite easy to make her out from the shadows.

Parting her jaws, the rogue tasted the air around her. Reeked of Ivyclan and Mistclan, the latter stronger. What she would do, just to get her claws onto Bearstar again, but this time make sure she was dead. Oh, how easy it would be to rip every last of her lives away from her, more satisfying then the first. "I'm doing it again." The feline growled to herself, shaking the bloodthirsty thoughts away. She was here to check for patrols, something she did often. It was always good for planning to see if any of the cats changed, got stronger, or fell away from the group.

Long shadows arched across the land, cast from looming trees as the dull glow of the settling sun painted the sky in orange and violet. The crisp spring breeze sent small gusts here and there, did little to chill the warmth felt by the effect of Greenleaf that would soon be upon the clans. And such a warmth spurred on the sleek dappled form of a cat to finish up her patrol.

Saltweed maneuvered deftly through the forest, over tangled roots and under high-reaching brush as she marked her way along the Ivyclan border. She dare not trespass onto their land, but she would make damn sure they would do the same. It was her job now as a warrior to defend the territory borders by keep Mistclan's scent strong. Still though, the day had grown long and night soon approached, leaving the cat longing a little for her nest. Though she'd never tell a soul such.

Her orange eyes scanned the area sternly as her silvery body rubbed up against a lean birch tree, dark rosettes made messy as the pale bark roughed up her pelt. A scent that wafted over her caused the young she-cat's grey ears to prick up and she rose her head high in an effort to seek out the individual who owned the smell. Somehow, the stranger managed to avoid the sharp sights of the acute molly, but Saltweed knew better. Stiffening herself, she reasoned that she was on the radar of a cat who far outweighed her in experience. Talent would only get her so far in this instance, and the normally cocky cat knew it.

Parting her jaws to taste the air, movement and the flicker of furhad caught her attention. Not prey,but just another Mistclan cat. All alone too, how nice. Did her old clan stop caring after she was banished, assuming she would stay away? They were stupid.

With a hidden smirk, she had launched herself to another branch closer to the warrior, with the ease of a squirrel. One of her kills, despite her disabilities, was tree climbing. It was also the most entertaining thing to do when there wasnt anycat to care for. Her stubby tail wiggled, and she stared towards the feline with her good side of her face visible, the rest hidden in the shadows.

"Expected to be alone, hmm?" She said with a silky, almost venomous tone.

[mewmehh]

Orange eyes flared brightly as the silky smooth voice filled Satlweed’s head, the stranger’s words dripping like poison. It was enough to send a chill spiking down her dappled spine.

The young warrior swung around to place the owner of the voice, and ing up with her gaping up at branches of the tree she had been rubbing herself along. Despite how she knew the voice was coming from above, the deep saturation of shadowy hues did well to hide the appearance of the dark bengal cat among the canopy. The silvery she-cat flattened her ears as she pulled her lips back in a curling snarl. She recognized the cat’s voice, and after she put the voice to a face in her mind, Saltweed could barely make out the former Mistclan cat’s scent beneath the muddy attempt to cover it up.

”Shadespirit. What are you doing here?” Such a cat made Saltweed’s blood turn cold. She had never really interacted with he cat in the clan- never really had a reason to as when she was an apprentice, Saltpaw’s had kept mostly to herself. But she had recalled seeing the warrior in passing. She had always looked at Shadespirit’s marred face with respect and awe for her abilities as a warrior. Her respect for Shadespirit as a fighter didn’t go away when she had been exiled, but Saltweed’s respect for her as a warrior had. What reason did she have for attacking Bearstar?! The spotted she-cat didn’t care to know. But why was she back?
