Now a lot larger than his newly born self, the ginger tabby and his littermates were finally allowed to move around behind the wall of trashcans that blocked off their so-called 'home' from curious two-legs. It hadn't been obvious at birth, being able to crawl like the best of them, but as soon as their eyes opened and they were learning to walk, it had became apparent to him, and the rest of the rouge group, that blaze had something wrong with him. it wasn't easy to walk, not with one leg fully refusing to function to even the basic of actions. it wasn't even like he had a reference of how to walk, not like he would've had he gained the injury later on in life, now he had to learn how to walk with a severe impairment with no idea how to walk anyway.
The ginger tabby was laying away from his nest, out of breath. He had managed to drag himself this far and he wasn't going back any time at all, lest he give himself some kind of attack. He wasn't even the runt of the litter and yet he was the smallest, the weakest. The one who had to sit and watch his siblings play unhindered, while he could barely walk a step. He hated it. Yet he knew he'd eventually start finding it easier to move, he knew that he had to depend on others for survival until he did. Blaze was lucky to be born into a group of cats or his mother would've abandoned him, and he couldn't blame her. He was a disgrace to her legacy. So he would just have to prove himself to be worthy of their time and effort. Fine.
For now, though, he was only a kitten, smaller than most. The mostly white tom was splayed out on the ground, from a distance, he looked like a normal cat relaxing, but when you came closer you'd see the slightly odd looking limb pointed out in an unnatural angle. He didn't have any control of it so he usually just moved it with his mouth to a more comfortable position when he say down, so it didn't get into the way. the worst thing about it was that he still felt the pain that he tiny teeth did to it. It was truly a worthless limb, and whatever 'higher power' that had cursed with this would pay dearly. He didn't believe in the older cat's mumblings of their various religions, but he'd make them pay if they existed.
