The first thing that Shadowgaze does the morning after he had decided to leave IvyClan is go to the elders’ den. He carries a mouse in his mouth; there had been a larger rabbit on the pile, but the cat he is going to see hates rabbit so the mouse will just have to do.

With a quick glance, he finds his target. The small grey tom quietly makes his way to the nest of a certain grumpy elder; Shadow lays down next to the old sack of bones, gently placing the mouse in front of the elder. There’s a different air around the young tom today; there’s sorrow first and foremost, but unlike the drowning depression that has been surrounding the small warrior for entirely too long, there’s also hope shining in Shadow’s eyes. His voice, however, holds only sorrow. “Greyears, wake up ya old grump, I have something important I wanted to tell you today. I’m… I’m leaving IvyClan and I wanted to come tell you goodbye. Goodbye, and I’m sorry. Sorry for the way I treated you, and for how I’m leaving you now. I’m sorry.”

Tears threatening to spill, Shadowgaze gets up and starts to walk out, unsure of what else to say. Greyears has been one of the few cats that Shadowgaze has been proud to call “friend,” and of all the cats in IvyClan, it was probably hurt the most for Shadow to walk away from Grey. He knows he has to though, even as his head dips and his ears half flatten from the pain.

//I'm so late omh I'm so sorry

Greyears blinked open his eyes, staring at the mouse that plopped down in front of his vision. He didn't have to look or smell or even listen to know was Shadowgaze. The violet-eyed warrior was the only one who seemed to truly care about the health and well being of him. And in Starclan's honest truth? He enjoyed it. Today, all of that would change.

Greyears didn't speak as he pulled the mouse close to him, hesitating to sink his teeth into the small creature. Something was off, and he could sense it on the younger. The male would pull his tail close, tensing his shoulders as the words reached his ears. Shadowgaze was.. leaving? His heart pounded in his chest, and his eyes flashed, briefly revealing fear deep within. But no, he wasn't going to... Greyears would flatten his ears and roll the limp body of mouse underneath his paw before mustering the strength to pull his body to his feet, swaying on his feet as the male attempted to grab his balance, all before finally moving, walking towards the young warrior.

He wouldn't stop him. This was his decision to make. The elder may not support it, but he believed in him. "You know what you need to do-" the tom would mummer, attempting to at least catch up enough to him to rest his chin on his shoulder. "-and I won't stop you. Starclan watch over you.." the latter was more of a command in the direction to their starry ancestors. If they didn't keep an eye out for the younger, Greyears knew he would make his acquaintance with them sooner rather then later and whip their hind ends into shape.


He could feel his heart twisting up inside of his chest. He was selfish, and he wanted more then anything to grump up and 'forbid' anybody from leaving his clan.. he would bash them and test their loyalty. Such as when Jaysong had parted to join Mothclan when the newer clan was formed. But he didn't. He held that back for the sake of his friend.
