Miss Tactical

Oakcloud was relaxing as for once as her duties had been completed for the day. The sun was setting, the sky ablaze with orange and reds, dark cobalt peaking in around edges of the horizon. The air was slowly cooling, the nights of Newleaf always colder than the nights of Greenleaf. She was lounging on a nice bed of moss with a ring of stones around her. It was comfortable enough, a nice place to lay and still keep watch over the camp. Despite her gruff attitude she did hate sleeping on anything harder than moss. She often spent most of the evening bringing back bedding for those who needed it and for herself. It was a dirty job with all the moist earth that came up with the moss, but it was well worth it.

She stretched out on her bedding, letting her head rest on her paws. Her tawny colored eyes flickered across the camp, taking in the setting of the day. It was nice watching everything settle down into place rather than the chaotic bustle of the afternoon. She enjoyed the cool breeze as it swept over her coat, it made her roll onto her back in a languid stretch. Of course she didn't stay like that for long, she sat back up, chastising herself for letting her guard down. She was still a warrior, and warriors did not let themselves lounge around like a kittypet. She curled herself up properly, allowing her tawny eyes to continue skimming across the camp. She would keep a watchful eye until the moon rose, that she would make sure of.

The large ginger tabby sat outside the camp entrance, it was his turn for the night watch. The duty was shared among the warriors, constantly shifting so you had plenty of rest before your next watch. He sat straight forward, eyes peeled listening for any sort of trouble. With the recent murder of one of their own clan mates, Lionstorm wasn't about to let anything else happen. As apprentices and warriors walked in and out he gave each a curt nod... others however he smirked, winked, or whistled at. He wouldn't let his guard down, but his personality would certainly still shine. He was a charming flirt what could he say. That was his best trait!

Lionstorm had given Thunderpaw off that day, after all all work and no play was never fun. His apprentice was turning out great, and honestly couldn't wait until she was a warrior. He puffed out his chest ever so slightly, proud that was doing so well. It also gave him the day to visit his kits, sure he probably wouldn't settle down, but he wasn't a bad father and always brought mice to Emberbrook. He learned that the brown ones seemed to be her favorite, he couldn't tell the difference in taste but apparently she did. His kits were strong, and that also made Lionstorm proud, perhaps maybe they would even be like him. Perhaps that was a blessing and also a curse...

His blue-green eyes scanned the camp and spotted a she-cat rolling around. How cute.... He curled his lip into a sheepish smile, but then she sat up again seeming more serious and looking around. Was this she-cat his partner for the night watch? Sure it was normally done in pairs, but Lionstorm didn't mind doing it alone either, and last time he was paired with Pouncefox...so perhaps this was an accident of some sort. "I can't be THAT lucky to have her for a partner." Lionstorm looked around and as cats settled down in their nests for the night, his eyes widened. HE WAS THAT LUCKY!

The tom took a few steps forward clearing his throat before letting out a warm purr his tail caressing the she-cats chin. "Well hello there beautiful, take guard at this spot often?" He mewed with a charming deep tone. He would win her over, he would certainly succeed.

Oakcloud watched as a tabby cat came up to her, more than likely being her watch partner. His comment made her stare at him, a slight smirk running across her face. What was this? Flirting while on duty? This was a little form of rebellion, not supposed to be done but it seemed like fun to tease him.

"About as often as you use that line." She stood, giving her body a quick stretch. He was a looker that was for sure. The tabby being a pleasant view on the eyes, and his eyes were quite nice to look at. He was a stark contrast against her own appearance. With tawny eyes with black and white fur, she suddenly felt quite plain. Of course the feeling didn't stay long, after all he had called her beautiful. It was fun to give into temptation every once in a while.

"It seems as though we're going to be taking the night watch." She gave a quick shake to her pelt and sat down, allowing space for the tom to join her if he was to be so inclined. "What might your name be?" She looked at him, tawny eyes relaxed but still flickering over the camp to make sure everything was still in order.

Lionstorm was almost shocked that the she-cat didn't know his name! Well that was a good thing wasn't it. That meant she hadn't heard about him and he still had a chance! He groomed his fur down making sure it was sleek before walking with a flexed stance. "Lionstorm." He mewed. The golden tom wasn't sure if he got his name because of his personality.....or because he was actually a decent fighter. He supposed both were fitting but he would never really know. The she-cats response to his statement made him chuckle, she might be a tough one to crack but he would certainly do his best to try. He cleared his throat, waiting for her to say something else. When nothing came he was at a loss of what to do, this never happened!

He swiveled his ears at the sound of kits and crickets, things were peaceful tonight. He was slightly proud that his own kits were healthy. "Now what is the name of the pretty lady who'm is blessing me with their presence?" He mewed coyly. He dug his claws into the dirt giving hid body a quick stretch. He wasn't a new warrior so it wasn't a silent vigil. He was a good multi tasker he could talk to his partner and listen for trouble. It was a shame about what happened to Featherclaw, since then Stormpaw hadn't been the same, and he felt for her. "Seems like it will be a quiet night, don't worry though sweetheart, if anything happens I'm one of the best fighters." He mewed, while giving the she-cat a wink.
