a quiet grumble sounded the area as hemlock lay by the very edge of the park,his ear twitching as he stared down at the willow leaves beneath his front paws as he held them down, just in case there was a breeze that blew them away. the young tom had attempted to hunt down a few small creatures- mostly rodents- for almost the entire day, but even he knew that his hunting skills were very poor, although he would never admit that to another feline... so, hemlock had been forced to choose his second option for a meal: whatever harmless plants he could find that he didn't mind the taste of. in this case, that happened to be the willow leaves that he had plucked from a nearby tree. of course, they weren't as nutritious as a mouse or rabbit, but they would have to do for now... afterall, the scrawny cat was starving.

his yellow eyes glanced around the area for a couple of seconds, making sure he wasn't going to be disturbed by some disgusting commoner like the majority of cats were around here... most of them were kittypets, which made it even worse. he despised the fact that some cats were so low and useless that they couldn't even be bothered to find their own shelter, food, and water, and left it down to twolegs to take care of them. 

slowly, he picked up one of the long, green leaves and began to chew it. it didn't taste too bad, but the texture was awful, and he made sure to swallow it as quick as he could.

tiny, but mighty

Petra loved Lorian Park. It was full of thick grass and heavy trees, dogs to taunt and birds and mice to chase. Here, she was able to pretend that she was a wild-cat, like those she had heard so many stories of. They had been told to her and her siblings as a horror story - a warning - to keep them away from the thicket, the woods. But she had been fascinated, entranced really.

Her eyes locked on the tabby cat, she slunk towards him. Her rounded stomach scraped the ground, and her oversized paws dragged her forwards. Her ears flattened back, and her pupils were dilated. At the last moment, she wriggled her butt, and kicked off the ground, launching herself at Hemlock with a shrill "AAAAHHHH!"

hemlock released a loud hiss of shock when his less-than-pleasant meal was suddenly interrupted by a tiny mass flying towards him. in quick response, his claws unsheathed and he threw himself backwards closer to the bushes, short, messy fur spiking in the clumsy action. he hadn't expected such an attack, so of course he retaliated by rushing himself into a defensive position, but once he realised that the culprit was a kit seemingly no older than four moons, he couldn't help but feel his face heat up in embarrassment. he glared at the young kit with despise,

"what do you want, ant?" he demanded although kept his voice rather quiet to avoid attracting the attention of more unwanted guests.
