RAPTOR
Outsider | Rouge Kittypet | Tom | 22 Moons | Heterosexual
White ruffled fur streaked through the darkness. Dusty pink paw pads pounded against the hard surface beneath them as a big feline tore across the ground. It had an oddly cold feel and smooth texture for the concrete the roads were usually paved with. Pupils narrow daggers, his mixed gaze shone brilliantly as it reflected the few dim lights available. The nights air was stale and stagnant, not a single cricket chirping. Surely the bugs had fled in fear of the stalking predator. Raptor skidded as the alley he was following took a sharp turn, the two short buildings he was between sharing some kind of roof or crosswalk he was traveling under. Only slowing slightly on the slick surface his paws pedaled. Sharp claws not catching the ground to whip off to the side and follow the turn he thudded into a hard wall. There was an audible bang, as if the wall was hollow not the brick of a building. It only took the tom a moment to regain his focus and footing after though. He turned and ripped at the ground like he was initially eyes searching now.
He knew he was closing. The target he had been after revealed itself as he cleared past the wall. A plump mouse with a bright pelt, it was clearly healthy with an appearance like that and he figured it must have been into some kind of good smelling foliage. The aroma of catnip clung to the little creatures’ fur. It was now frozen in fear, cornered. The cat dodged through the strange trees in the area, each of which had four trucks rooting them to the ground. Even with all of the extra support the cat swore he’s seen these trees move, he kept his long tail lifted for balance as he agilely maneuvered but also to keep the trees from jumping and landing on it. It was like the cat had experience and knew just how painful it would be to have his tail squished. As he escaped the forest the tom leapt at his prey. Claws landed squarely and the creatures body gave beneath his weight like it had no bones at all, his tail lashed behind him proudly. There was no need to reach down and tear up the kill, he was fully aware its flesh was too tough to be eaten.
“Raptor!” A big voice screeched through the silence. “Quit with all the noise,” the cat perked up at his name, but didn’t quite understand the later order. He dipped his head and gathered his kill in his jowls. The tom trotted towards the voice with his head held high to show off his dead mouse. He reached a swinging wall, left cracked open slightly. The tom leaned into it and it creaked as it gave way, making an opening he could get through. He grinned at his own cleverness, peering up to find the source of the voice. “Mrrreow?” he called, ears standing forward as the voices owner shifted from a higher vantage point. The feline leapt up gracefully and landed on the softest bedding any cat could ever imagine. His partner must have spent much time gathering the moss and leaves needed to make something so comfortable, but Raptor wouldn’t know; he wasn’t there to watch it just appeared one day in their territory. The fluffy cat shrugged and treaded closer to the large body laying still there.
“Lookie,” he made a fuss dropping the kill on the other figure, pawing at his partners shoulder as well. The twoleg rolled over and reached her hand towards the tom, she gently rubbed his head and ear before going on to flatten out his messy fur. Raptor let out a purr as she grabbed his toy mouse from the bed “Oh you brought me your toy? Thank you,” the twoleg slurred out sleepily before tossing it to the ground again. He didn’t understand a word, his whiskers twitched as he turned to retrieve it again since she clearly dropped his gift on accident. Her fingers racked through his fluffy fur again though and he paused, soon forgetting the kill for his twoleg. Purring he decided to curl up next to her, guessing he could spare her some peace for now since she was kind enough to rub the good places before falling back to sleep. His twoleg never seemed to be quite the night creature he was anyway, she was always the loudest towards him when he terrorized their territory at night.
Oh the imagination of Raptors kittypet mind. The concrete beneath his feet a smooth hard floor, the building to form a covered alleyway simply two walls connecting with the ceiling forming a hall. The strange moving forest a dining table and chairs, the false wall a door, his twolegs bedding a mattress. Lastly his kill, the fat bright pelted mouse a mouse toy made of thick fabric so he couldn’t shred it. He may or may not have been guilty of shredding some of the cheaper toys his twoleg had gifted him to play with before. Oh and how Raptor did adore his twoleg owner, who he saw as a partner. The two of them together protected their home, their territory. He hunted for her since she was furless and a terrible stalker, she kept him fed with the hard kibble he grew up on and he didn’t mind it at all. While his twoleg may have left him to guard their den alone during the day he didn’t mind the duty. He was never jealous of her freedom to roam outside, he was perfectly content with living in their shared space. Their living situation well balanced as they both had their duties to each other and their own free time when they needed breaks from each other.
Raptors life as a kittypet was good, much too good to be true…
NOTES: Alternate universe where Raptor is living a soft kittypet life, which he likes, instead of roaming the streets as a rouge.
